I was looking through the thread about Cody, God rest his soul, and saw ZAR say, "R.I.P. PB Legend." It got me thinking. There are a few people we all know around ProBoards. A few people who helped us all when we first joined or taught us how to code/do anything. The people who answered our stupid questions without ever getting mad. People who EVERYONE knew because of their nice attitude and/or willingness to help. I think we should have a ProBoards hall of fame. Everyone inducted will be called a ProBoards legend. There would be an induction once a year just like in a normal hall of fame. Part of getting in would be a people vote and part would be the votes of the ProBoards Legends. We would have to get more rules on who could be nominated. I like the idea what does everyone else think? I would be glad to organize it not that i ever plan on getting into this club its just i think there are people here now and people who have passed on that deserve some recognition and this is the best way that i can think of to honor them.

Meh. To be honest the best, hardest working citizens do so without the fame and glory. I'm sure most, if not all of those who qualify as ProBoards Legends would rather do so in spirit, in faith, in reputation, and in respect. NOT in a shiny metal that animates when you view the page.

But that doesn't mean we can't honor them. It doesn't have to be a big deal. They don't need to have their own user group and huge colored names. As a coder talking to other coders i noticed most of them wanted one thing from the people they helped. They wanted the words, "Thank you." i think this is a great way to say thanks to those who exceeded all others in their service to ProBoards.

The best, hardest working members have, for the most part, gone on to become staff at one time or another. What more recognition does one need?

I think the idea is nice, but it might be hard to pick a set of criteria for induction, because of how much bigger PB is now than it used to be. I doubt enough people here remember Min, Padre, Ash, Alan, Knockstar (RIP), H0zer, culda, Zeke, etc to vote them into a Hall of Fame, but each of them (and many others) arguably contributed more to the forum than many current potential inductees, by way of the fact the board was smaller and you had to do less to be notice.
And on the same note, several of the people I listed left on a pretty bad note, and out of current potential inductees, you'd also always find that they weren't perfect either. It would be tricky to decide what could count strongly enough against someone, as well as for them.

general of Justice - yes i know that... derek - i understand that but staff is something the administrators organize. this would be the normal people on the forum recognizing them. Renegade - I was thinking of that. I would say that even the ones that left on a sour note should be able to be inducted for how they served before. I know we will need rules for people who can be nominated. We probably want them to have been members for at least 5 years. I think that whoever nominates someone would need to write an essay about why that person should be inducted. Also this doesn't just have to be people who were good only here at support. California was helpful all over ProBoards. The person would however need to be a great member here so people here would know him/her.

California is always known as the PB User who advanced the Codes
As with the others, you do have a point why they should be immortalised also.

Padre!! How could I have forgotten about him?! California is always known as the PB User who advanced the Codes As with the others, you do have a point why they should be immortalised also. Cody was not solely responsible for that. Chris, Nadim, Peter, Hechizero, WebworldX all advanced us, with several at the same time Cody was. Hell, I'd even put Syphonic Killer/Zero Tolerance on that list.
