Advice needed on compliance with rules
« Thread Started on May 30, 2009, 1:51pm »

Hello there everyone. I am having quite a bit of trouble with a person trying to get my board deleted, IMO. You see this person is a very negative person who has created one heck of a mess on http://www.newszapforums.com/forum11/ . On that board this person has targeted several people to get them banned. He has succeeded in many instances. He has stated that he will stop at nothing when he wants to accomplished something like getting someone deleted. I figured out who is was on my board at http://pcfixup.proboards.com/index.cgi and deleted his membership. I now fully believe he has it out to get my board shut down. He has even posted the TOS on the Newszap board above. I believe in a attempt to try to intemindate me to shut my board down.

I will not do any such thing. My question today is I would like a few people to come to my board and have a look around to see if I am violating any rules or TOS of proboards. My members as well as myself have put a lot of time into building this board. It would be a shame for all that to go up in smoke because of a shady person's goal.

My board is only open to members to fully view. I have however created a membership for those of you that will take a few minutes to make sure I am following the rules of Proboards.

I wish to thank each of you very much for helping me to make sure I am following the rules.

Please use the following to log into my site and look around. I am not asking for anyone to join my site. That is not my goal at all.

I will leave this account active until I get a few responses.

Thank you very much,

Rick

If you arent violating any of the rules listed in the Proboards TOS then you have nothing to worry about.

A member that intimidates a board is unlikely to get it shut down.
The one that reports a board has to show good evidence to violations, if since making the report it's found that the links to violations don't exist, that shows that the board is being actively modeerated.

If the evidence is still there, then you are likely going to receive a warning to remove it, if it's then removed, it shows that the admin is active on the board (actively moderated)

The TOS department know the difference between real violations and those created by members to get the board shut down.

If members join to disrupt, just ban the member, it will stop them using the account.

Thank you very much for this information. I am about 99% sure I am not violating any TOS. I just know how this person operates and it is very disturbing. He has, and I am sure would, created multiple screen names to show the webmaster of Newszap that several people are complaining. Let me tell ya, it is working to his benefit big time.

I feel so much better now. I am happy to hear that I will most likely receive some warning to remove what would be a violating post or content. I gaurantee you I will and have been following the rules.

Again, thank you!

If you have problems, you have the option of limiting registration, or even disable registration for a while, they soon get bored

That is exactly what I have done. I have disabled signups for now. I have a core bunch of members that will get along just fine without this trouble maker.
