So...our board is a roleplaying board of the series "The Tudors" and mature content is needed in it! [maybe you know "the tudors" it's full of mature content...ps. we are all above 18 anyways] But the rules of proboards say, as I got it right, that any kind of mature content is not allowed.
First, is that true?
and second, if it is true, how can we move the content of the proboard forum to another host? Because that mature content is necessary! Is that possible?
Thanks, already

Hi, It is correct that we do not allow adult content on our service. You can see our community guidelines page for a breakdown of prohibited content. Though unfortunately, there isn't a way to move the content automatically. It would have to be done manually.

I reread it...
"Is obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy or pornographic, that may constitute child pornography, or that may solicit personal information from or exploit in a sexual or violent manner anyone under the age of 18;"
What exactly is the "barrier" now?
To what an extent can we roleplay mature content? Are there "Words" we are not allowed to use? If so, please list them. It's not like we were "pornographic" and we dont use any kind of pictures or have anyone under 18 on the board. And we are all girls. out of character, and know eachother.

I think it may be important to note that the mature content rule is one that's been in our TOS for years now, so it's not something new that's just come up recently. Also, even if you strictly enforce an 18+ rule on the forum, the content on the forum still has to be suitable for those aged 13+; this includes hidden or password protected sections of the forum. Because of this, we go by a "PG-13" rule, where as if the content described is more than what you'd find in a PG-13 movie, then it wouldn't be allowed on the service. So it's all about the detail involved with the posts that are made.

PG-13 then?.. So, read that up on Wikipedia just now "the PG-13 rating indicating that some material may be inappropriate for children under 13." PG-13 movies still contain sexual content, drugs, swearing, "and/or breast nudity (and in some cases, genital nudity)" "Parents should watch out and "be strongly coutioned" So...what's the deal then? Mature content is allowed in PG-13. Why do you keep warning our boards then?

Again, it's about the detail. Only time you see nudity in a PG-13 movie, it's in a non-sexual way and is very very brief. Along with the other content in a PG-13 movie, it may be mentioned, but you won't get detailed of the drugs being used, the sexual content, etc.
So in an RP sense (as I'm guessing your forum is), saying two people did an adult act would be fine, detailing the act is not fine.

good good good -nods-
that means, in detail, we are not allowed to use innappropriate words. What if we use other words, would that still be a problem then? ;D
And why exactly is the "warning" about mature content on the board not enough? "The tudors" the series we roleplay is loaded of sexual content and everyone knows that, and people that don't know the series, will not show up at the board anyways or we delete them right away. Only characters are allowed and these know of the sexual content.

It's not so much just about the inappropriate words used, but the overall detail of the act in general. Even if you're using clean words, it could be considered as mature. I'd mainly advise to keep it simple. The reason why a warning wouldn't be enough is because there's really no way to tell who's actually telling the truth on their age when registering. It would be extremely simple for a 13yr old to read the message on your forum about only being 18+, and they could just do the math and make themselves show as 18 on the forum. Because of this possibility, we want to make sure all forums go by the 13+ content rule

Hmmm, yeah I understand it to an extent. x] but when a child decides to lie about its age and register and roleplay and read such content, isn't it their decision? You cant do more than warn them. keep a mature scene simple...hm that is quite boring, those scenes are always the most important and romantic and ...-sighs- that's just... so mean... without these roleplaying would not make much fun to me...
