A member of my forum was having some problems with the money hack from his profile. Referring to this post, you can see that his credits were perfectly normal on display while from the screenshot he posted, his credits only display as 1. No changes have been made with the global footers and only I can access the headers & footers area. Besides, no changes have been made with his credits and he hasn't purchased anything yet.. Only I can edit member profiles for the money transaction. The rest of the forum members see his credits perfectly fine, as well as I do, and the credits from my profile are displayed correctly. If so, does anyone know the reason why the glitch so I could be able to help him at least?

He just answered me that he's using Firefox 3.5.3 and no changes had been made from his computer. Post is here, and with a side note from IE8.EDIT: He also stated that he installed Eastern language support. Did it have any effect at all with the credits display?

hmmm, that Eastern Language support may have changed his regional settings. He mentions Komachi and Nazolene being the only two with "normal" credits. They also happen to be the only two under 1000 (i.e no comma). Have him do the test described here and report the results

Alright. Thank you. Even if the display of commas also work fine for my browser, I would also like to try that to test it myself.
EDIT: Tried that test. It worked fine for me and it displayed 1,000. So, what should be done to fix his problem?
EDIT2: I will report back the results after I hear from him again.

Had this been an actual solution you would have been notified with actual instructions of where to go and what to do. This and other tests are simply probing potential causes to identify the underlying problem and is usually referred to as troubleshooting.

If that is not a taipo typo and he is indeed seeing a period instead of a comma then that would explain everything since the money hack code truncates period and any number following it. Now assuming he uses windows he'll need to go into control panel and verify that his number format is set to include commas. The procedure will be slightly different depending on what version of windows is running. Here is an image of what he needs to check in XP He'll need to click the customize button and check that the "digit grouping symbol" is indeed a comma and not a period. There's also a chance that the area of the registry where those settings are saved has become corrupt and he can test that by changing to something else even it says it's a comma then click OK to close then go back in and verify that the change sticks. If it does then change it back to comma. If not then he'll probably need to do a repair of his system to correct the problem.

Well after reading the user's reply in that thread on your forum, I must admit I was just as ignorant as the money hack code since I thought number representations was a universal given . It seems the Dutch use periods for grouping and commas for decimal portion (12.345.678,90 instead of 12,345,678.90) so the fault lies not with the user's regional setting but rather with the money code assuming period was always the decimal symbol, especially since it uses a localization method to be numerically multilingual. The user should not need to change any of his regional settings, instead try changing the following line in the code num = num.toLocaleString().replace(/\.\d+/, "");to num = parseInt(num).toLocaleString();If he keeps his regional settings as they are (and should be) then that change *should* work and still display the number in the local format of the end-user, I haven't however tested it.

I have only replied to this thread just NOW because the user who is Dutch has been inactive around the forum due to his work and he just replied to that thread TODAY. I thought the solution already worked fine for him and it's been days since he last replied. D: Okay, here was his latest reply.I have also copied that line: num = parseInt(num).toLocaleString();...and replaced the previous line from the money hack. (It was difficult searching for that specific line..) I hope it would work now with all other regional settings.. >.<

That would be because Proboards doesn't attempt to regionalize the display of the post count number, it simply adds a comma if needed. One of the perks of requiring all forums be in English...
