Forum URL: burnbrighter.proboards.comForum Name: BURN OUT BRIGHTER Description: A literate arctic wolf roleplay set on Ellesmere Island, Nunavut (Canada). Three wolf packs set off on a journey southbound in search of a better home. Desired Outcome of Rate: This is my second site, and I'm really hoping to get some critique on the plot, site structure, and other such things. Not expecting a high rate since I'm still very new to this.

Heya! This is pretty good for a second site. My first and second sites were absolutely disasters. This is far from a disaster. To make reading easier, I’ve broken down my thoughts into sections. Hope they are somewhat helpful.
By the way, this is already pretty much a 10/10 to me. Which is 100% because of the plot.
Layout/ Skin & Organization
Your skin is pleasing on the eye and easy to read. That said the achromatic colour scheme (black and white in case you’re not familiar with art terms) is a bit plain, so next skin it might be a worthwhile to consider adding an accent colour to make it more lively or playing around with multiple colours. I’m not really a fan of the italicized font on these banners: http://i226./dd99/HolyCripItsaCrapple/whitewolf_edited-1.jpg because I find it a bit difficult to read. Finally, the menu at the top is a bit out of place with that big white stripe that used to be a welcome table. The menu might be nicer directly above the wolf banner, or directly beneath it, to give the skin a more unified feel.
That said, the skin does do its job, and it’s not unpleasant to look at. (:
For organization: I like the organization of your boards, but I notice you only have one board for roleplaying, with three subboards. Although the wolves will be travelling, a lot of players like multiple places to explore. I would make those subboards main boards, personally, or create a few new boards that represent key places on the island. I like that you have few boards to go along with the plot, but expanding the island just a little might create a more enriching environment. Especially since as the packs move south you can remove boards and consolidate them as necessary.
The information table at the top is nice, but the tabs Welcome and News feel very similar. Welcome could technically be your ‘About’ tab, while the message in there could go in News, just to make it more organized. You could probably get rid of - Link Five - Link Six for the meantime too.
Theme/ Plot
YOUR PLOT IS MARVELOUS! I wanted to join as soon as I read the little blurb on this page. It is relatively unique (I think I've seen this kind of thing only twice in six years) and has the potential to evolve, would include all characters, shape the environment, and drive character development. I like that it is short and to the point, outlining the situation and giving all this potential for growth. This is why it is a 10/10 for me. This is in my head the perfect kind of plot for an rpg.
Documentation
The character registration form has a typo. You want to make sure there are never typos on your site if it can be helped. Typos make us look unprofessional and turn people off. I’m not really a fan of the picture requirement, because finding royalty-free photographs of wolves might be difficult.
In the plot, I think this should be: unite to embark on a great trek to the south.
“such a travel has incredible risks, but if the caribou do not return, the chance of finding a better home is one they are willing to take.” The word journey instead of travel might fit better here.
The rules are short and to the point which is wonderful and strangely rare.
This is just a question here. I didn’t know this! (: And I live in Canada (shame on me for not knowing!). I thought the great lakes and Great Bear Lake were the largest, but I am unclear on the definition of a natural lake. I’m assuming they aren’t considered ‘natural’ in comparison? Or because Hazen is entirely in Canada? So I was super curious, cause that’s a pretty awesome fact.

Wow! Your review has made me so entirely happy. I can't express how much I appreciate everything you said. I'm making changes; minor ones, though. Adding a bit of blue to the images and making more boards on which to play. Would you be kind enough to tell me where my typo is? I can't seem to find it. XD;

You're so welcome! That blue makes all the difference in the world!
The typo is here: twp or three good sized sentences The second line that says that. The two has a p instead of an o. (:

Oh! Thank you. I didn't even notice. I'm really glad you gave me that advice; I really think it looks much better now, even with those small changes. Am going to work on making the pack boards now~

Rated Using Internet Explorer 8
Good Aspects: - Graphics seem nice.
- Looks like a good amount of boards.
Bad Aspects: - It's very... white.
- The boards seem rather crushed together.
- The board and table sizes are uneven.
Should Be Changed: - Try adding some more colors, this would add highlights and lowlights to your site, making it more visibly appealing.
- Work to make everything the same width, the main graphic, the boards, the login box, and the like.
- Add a category splitter.
- Add a Navigation Mod.
- Try adding a blockquote or two to each board description.
- Remove info center title bar.
- Remove the forum jump.
- Remove the Google search bar.
- Encourage posting in empty boards, this would make the site more attractive by looking more active.
Overall Rating :: 6.5 / 10

About the site sizes: On my computer, everything is alligned. I don't rightfully know how to change it if it looks perfect to him.

I really like the images you are using down your left side. I think they really work well. I also quite like your background as it is a nice simple image. This is good because I know exactly what it is and I am not wasting time looking at your background trying to figure out what the image is actually of.
