You are not allowed to resize the ad. You can resize the video if you want. Are we allowed to have a code that moves the ads either: left, above or below the video?

What about one of those "code" things, that makes you have to scroll for if the width is "broken"? Basically like how Socal has for its codes.. We can't support custom codes developed by 3rd parties. If a code comes into conflict with the ProBoards software then the code needs to be updated. If we supported every code that ever came out we'd never be able to make a change to our software ever.

To take out the Youtube button and put the FTP button back in, you can use this code in your Global Footers. Note though that unless you use the censored word work-around, videos can still be posted manually: It's also suggested to change the Youtube icon to a blank image (http://s3.images.proboards.com/blank.gif) on the Customize Images page so nobody notices it for the very little time it's there. Alternative for FTP image URL: img375.imageshack.us/img375/2750/ftppu9.gif

Please note it is recommended to host the FTP image yourself as we do not guarantee that the location of that image will remain static. Further to that, the code should be used when you do not want YouTube videos on your entire forum or a specific board.
Using any other YouTube-enabling code to enable videos on your forum (which avoids the ads) is a violation of our Terms of Service for hiding ads.

BTW I really like that we can now have videos, you probably put in a lot of time to make a deal with youtube to allow it. IMO there is no reason to complain about the size, like Pat said earlier most people use a resolution higher that 800x600. While I think that every resolution is important, I don't think that arrangements to make it smaller should be made for a very small margin of the users. As for dail-up I understand people still use it, and I'm more friendly to dail-up than 800x600 resolution, but it is also a small percentage of users (though not as small as 800x600 resolution).

Patrick A worthy note, but that's kind of iffy about the second part. What's to keep you from integrating other features and adding ads to those and banning the regular codes? Will this new term be announced in the admin panels or something? Many people will not know that it's against the TOS. It's one thing to ban a code, but to ban it so you can throw in ads with your own version isn't really going to set well with a lot of people. o3o

This is not a new rule. There may be a new ad displaying along with this feature, but that does not negate the rule. Patrick It was always a rule that hiding the ad or preventing it from loading using a client-side script was against the TOS. In this case, you are not. The server doesn't even know you're posting a video. You're just using Javascript to copy a feature the software already provides. You're not preventing anything and the normal ads are still getting displayed at the top (and sometimes bottom). But I know you'll be firm on the ruling, so no point in further debating it. In either case, I'd still like to know if this might happen again in the future with other features.

In either case, I'd still like to know if this might happen again in the future with other features. Doubtful at this point, but I'm not a seer so I can not make any guarantees. Perhaps if we implemented video support for other sites. We currently limit the maximum number of banners ads per page to 3 (generally only the 1 at the top unless a video is posted). Link units are separate from that total. Patrick

Is there any possibility of the ads being moved to above (and) below the videos so it doesn't stretch some forums? I know that it doesn't affect most, but there are lots that have fixed width, and it doesn't have to be a narrow board either.
