I find it ironic that people say they don't believe in God because of the lack of proof for faith. In my opinion, an equal if not greater amount of faith is needed to dismiss the idea of God. I rest in the middle on this issue as an agnostic at present.

I'm a solid believer of things I can prove myself through investigation, experiment, or observation. The only "proof", so to speak, about a god, to me, can only be found in that book that people seem to worship more than the supposed being itself, the Bible. I was Christian for many years, never once finding anything more than that book to indicate that there was a god. I prayed, but quickly found that it was only my ears that were hearing them.

No one thusfar that I've talked to has given me any insight as to why they believe that wasn't either the Bible, that they 'just know', that they don't know, but are scared to think differently, or ones who offered no insight other than to tell me I'm going to burn in hell for my nonbelief. (Which is highly redundant, and not very much of a threat, seeing as I don't believe in a hell, but whatever.)

Edit: Or, for those who don't want to read all that, No, I don't.
