When you go and register on a new message board, do you prefer to make a new username/password combo, or do you prefer to log on with another site's ID (like Facebook, Google, etc).
I am a web developer, and I'm wondering how important that is to include on a website. So, what do you usually do? Do you use a Facebook (or Google, or OpenID, etc) ID everywhere you go, so you only have to worry about one username/password, or do you create a new (and hopefully unique) ID everywhere you go?

I'd prefer to have a different login combo for each site. I never liked the idea of having everything linked to my Facebook account. Plus, it just doesn't seem secure - if someone gains access to your Facebook, they'd gain access to everything else, too.

Same username for all. If you see my name on another site, that's probably me. ;D

I tend to use the same username, but different passwords and I hate the idea of linking forums and other sites to my facebook or twitter or even my email as a login. I don't mind it as a choice, just don't like being forced to.

I like being able to login with an existing ID, but not if the site still makes me fill out another registration form after linking my Facebook or whatever. A lot of sites only use the Facebook link to get username and email, and then still ask you to fill out tons of other stuff, which is pointless

Same username for all. If you see my name on another site, that's probably me. ;D Yeah, I usually do that. Sadly, I registered here many years back, and lost both the password and the email address to my original account. Anyways, so according to everyone so far, most people prefer to create a new account (username/password) for each site, and a couple have signed on with accounts from other sites (though are annoyed when they still have to fill out site-specific information). Second question (though feel free to continue answering the question in the first post), if you were only given one option (you could only log in with a Facebook, etc account, or you had to create a new account), would that deter you from registering on said site?

I'm scared. Google is stalking me. Look! I shortened the URL and it DOES work! ;D
