 No Follow Tags
« Thread Started on Nov 3, 2009, 3:19pm »

I asked this question several weeks back and at first I was told no, then later that no follow tags were being temporarily used in forum boards.
However I checked again and they are still present, so my question is how much longer will these be in place or if there is a way to opt out of these as in blogs or other web formats?

Here is the HTML from a recent post showing these tags present in the post:

I do not mean to seem rude, but since I sponsor the board in question (by providing free services as a business to members), this is an important question, so an answer to this question is VERY important and hopefully will not continued to be ingnored (which is unsual as support here is generally excellent).

If these no follow tags continue to be inserted we may have to support a different group

Thank you sossity for the reply on the other thread.

Hopefully this problem can be solved very soon otherwise this represents literally 1000s of hours of work down the drain, not to mention the requirement of moving the members, their rank, pictures, etc. to a new forum board that does not use "no-follow tags" to block serch engines if this problem is not corrected.

Thanks for any help here.

I guess I need to bounce this to the top until this gets resolved.

This is very discouraging, especially since this is an easy fix for those with access to the boards CSS

Hi,

At this time, they are still being used. When the time is appropriate to remove it, it will be removed. Unfortunately, i don't have a date i can give you.

Thank you for the reply.

Why is this being used, is this not what moderation is for?

In the blogging, it is considered poor etiquette to block urls for a well thought out comment. Spamming should be dealt with as what it is, and comments from true contributors should be treated with respect and no follow tags are a sign of disrespect
