I just stick to CGI/Perl. Honestly C and C++ have way too much complicated syntax. >_> But C++ is dead useful once you get the hang of it. I just stick to CGI/Perl. Honestly C and C++ have way too much complicated syntax. Really, Perl has some rather complicated syntax compared to C/C++. But for the most part, their syntax is very similar (and equally confusing ). Perl: #!/usr/bin/perl $intVar = 4; $strVar = "foo"; @intarr = (2,3); if ($intVar == 4 && $strVar eq "foo" && $intArr[1] == 3) { print "blah\n"; } C++: #include <iostream> int main() { int intVar = 4; char strVar[4] = "foo"; int intArr[2] = {2,3}; if (intVar == 4 && !strcmp(strVar,"foo") && intArr[1] == 3) { std::cout << "blah\n"; } return 0; } Similar. Quit showing off mate. Anyways, My pm inbox is always open if anyone has questions on starting Java.

^^ Lol at that code. That's funny. I wrote a JavaScript earlier, and I convinced my teacher to open the file. for(i = 0; i < 349.length; i++) { alert("j00 n0oOb. j00 f3l1 4 my tr1(k."); } hahaha.

I figured I'm learning enough languages right now, why not learn another one I'm not the biggest fan of it or anything, but it's alright. I've mostly just converted a few C++ programs over. I think I need to shrink my head a bit.

^ How do u find Java? Is it tougher than C++ ? You download the Java Software Development Kit (JSDK) from java.sun.com. I think Java's easier than C++, but you have to do more typing for simple things.

Erm, C++, why not just teach him a simple print function? That's what he asked for I think...
#include <iostream.h> void main() { cout<<"Hello World."; }
It's that simple.

Erm, C++, why not just teach him a simple print function? That's what he asked for I think...
#include <iostream.h> void main() { cout<<"Hello World."; }
It's that simple. And in Perl it would simply be: #!/usr/bin/perl -w print "Content-type: text/html\n\n"; print "Hello World."; Just going by that alone, Perl looks tremendously easier than C++, but that's not really true.
