After reading through the original chatlog, I can't help thinking that he sounds more like an 13 year old with an unreliable internet connection. Has it not occurred to anyone else that if a program existed with which you could simply type someone's IP address to wipe out their PC, it would be very well known by now? Think about it - every website you visit logs your IP... with every post you make on a forum, your IP is recorded... every email you send records the sender IP (sometimes as the server IP) in the headers. If hacking a PC was as easy as putting an IP address into a program and clicking "go", the internet as a whole would have a huge problem.
I'm also not convinced that firewalls "bounce back" hacking attempts to the PC which sent the attack. If you try to send something directly from PC to PC (via ftp for example, or IM filesending) and the connection fails, you don't suddenly find a second copy of whatever you were sending has appeared on your hard drive, nor does it suddenly run itself.
Conclusion - fake.

ROFLMAO! If only there were more people like him. He tried to hack the IP 127.0.0.1 three times!

Whether it is fake or not, it's still pretty funny. About half the people posting comments about it appear to be under the impression that some "elite hacker" really did wipe his own hard drive. Just thought I'd clear things up... very sorry if you were one of those who thought the whole thing was real; maybe that's why your reply was so unneccessarily cutting?
