Self Defense is not a crime , It isnt considered murder. The constitution of the united states and its laws anyway.Consider it preservation of Life .Your own not murder. And why is the law that way? Where did this idea come from that you can kill before you get killed? Because they are threatening you're Liberty of Life (and pursuit to happiness ) so you have the right to defend yourself, and if by defending yourself means killing the other person, then so be it.

If someone enters my home yelling incoherently, is it reasonable for me to assume that he means harm to me and my family or must we actually experience some physical harm before I can defend us with deadly force? The "assailant" would tell no tales.

But if a witness saw you..... if it's inside your house who is going to be a witness? If the guy robbes you, and he is opening the front porch to get out, and you kill him, and there is a witness in the street.... you're in trouble

My plasma tv is not worth prison .

Personally, i'd run my butt of to get away. I could never kill anyone, whether they were going to kill me or not, i just couldn't leave with myself if i did. Though if i ABSOLUTLY had to, then of course i would kill the person first then let them kill me, but thats just my opinion. Um, if you kill them then how can they kill you?

That is not always an option. You can not always restrain someone. Sometimes you have no choice but to kill them. If they have a gun, and you have a gun, and they are yelling, screaming and threatening to kill you, then when they point that gun at you to shoot you, you are not going to have the option to take it away and tie them up. You have a split second to shoot, or be shot. And shooting them in the shoulder does not work like it does in the movies. And it is mutch harder to shoot someone in the shoulder, or leg than the chest. If you're that close to each, shoot them in the leg. Why take an easy shot and kill someone when you could detain them with a sort of hard shot. You shoot them in the leg, they shoot you in the head. You are dead, they are just hurt. You try to detain them if you wish. However Trained Police officers can not always detain people, occotionally they have to kill them. And it is not for lack of trying! Police have LOADS of NON-LETHAL weapons that us average citizens do not have (legal) access to. So if you think you can do what Trained Police can't more power to you. I am not saying if someone threatens me I will turn and kill them. No no no. However if it is My life or theirs... I choose mine.

If someone actually attacking me and in the struggle they are killed, yes. If someone is in my house, threatening/stealing or whatever, I wouldn't make an effort to attack them before they got to me. If I did cause someone to die, I don't think I'd be able to live with myself. I'd never consider owning a gun, even if I lived somewhere it was legal to.
