The Space Station that is about to go up soon. The one they have been working on for about oh I dont know about 10 to 15 years.Do you think that it is totally possible that they can use that to build a bigger one, one that could support a larger population.Since there is no gravity in space, possible build a large ship that could travel to Pluto with in 2 to 3 years, instead of like 5 to 12 like the project one way, Have the ship large enough, so its not so cramped.Like a carrier or something ?

it could be possible, especially with all of the technological advances we have today. i'm sure they have thought of that while working on the new space station, especially with some of the problems they've had with the last one. i guess we'll have to wait and see.

It would be awesome if there was a giant space station under attack by aliens and I had a starfighter capable of annihilating them all... hell, i can dream anyhoo, i would wait to see a space community out in space... I honestly can't wait

The ISS ? What ? Who's building it ?
About the ISS, it's been up for a few years now. Once the shuttles get going again it might get finished.

the last one they tried to build was when we just got past the space shuttle lol.. we did not have the navagations, nor the programs we have now, nor did we have the buster rockets, and so on .as we do now.

but the way i see it ..we have this smaller station up there when its already built up there .It would be easier then to construct a large much large station in space. This other station could hold some parts of it. so shuttles could move back and forth with pieces of the larger station. If this first one has some stuff added to it.Possibly pieces would be constructured there out of materials . Who knows its just a thought. It would be great to see a space station similar to terroc nor.or Deep Space Nine.

We already have the key factors in technology now .Gravity generators We do have these things. We have life support systems for the shuttles, they could easily build a bigger one a recycling one for a station. We could build bigger thrusters to keep it in orbit. The biggest problem i would have to probably bring up fresh water every few months, unless they find a way to cleanse it ,and recycle it.. where its pure .

We are not advanced enough propulsion-wise to make it to Pluto. We probably won't get that far for awhile until we can go fast enough, or someone creates artificial gravity. The prolonged exposure to "zero" gravity has crippling effects on the human body.

It is possible to create artifical gravity. The craft has to be doing a continious barrel roll al the way out there.
