Star Wars Episode 7 (2014), 8 (2017) and 9 (2020) WILL be made 1) Mark Hamill and John Williams both said in an OFFICAL interviwes that Lucas is working on the 3rd trilogy. 2) Chewbacca's contract for Episode 3 SAID that if he does Episode 3, he would HAVE to apperar in Episode 7,8 and 9. In 1978, Lucas said there would be 12 Star Wars Movies. And I don't recall any annulation. So expect 6 more movies. Apparently Lucas is writting teh script for the last 3 episodes (10,11 and 12), since he has 9 years to prepare th3 rd trilogy (2014). Really? What interviews did he say that in? I would like to know that.... (Link to an article or proof..) On some very big airtime shows before Episode 3 came out, he said in 60 Minutes, NBC, and other news broadcasters that he wouldn't make anymore Star Wars movies, that he would retire and maybe make another couple movies, and stop completely.

Yep there actualy might be a Star Wars 7, 8, 9. As well as the T.V series coming out. Apparently it's rumored that the next movie is already in production. Which I tend to believe, becuase Lucas is famous for his denials that there is anything in production when there actualy is. I'll believe it when I see it. same as, but never trust rumours. Rumours stated that I was mad, I soon saw to those guys hehe....that was a huge knife....anyway, I believe Star Wars to be finished now, there was an end episode, and thats where it should stay

Until there's concerete proof i won't believe either.
However i agree with the cencus that 4, 5 and 6 should be left along, Lucas has tinkered enough with them. I won't go into what was or wasn't necasary, as some i agree with, some i don't.
But if the awful prequel trilogy is anything to go by, along with Lucas' "vision" and then god help us fans.

Which I tend to believe, becuase Lucas is famous for his denials that there is anything in production when there actualy is. The rumor is not true. Two reasons .. sorry, three. 1- "Star Wars" is the story of Anakin Skywalker. There is no more Anakin Skywalker. 2- No one would ever in their right mind or wrong mind have a TV series and movie at the same time. Not even Steven Spielberg, the richest and most popular movie/tv guy. 3- "Production"? Lucas spends about a year in pre-production before he starts shooting anything for Star Wars. Four, actually. 4- Rumors are rarely true.

When George Lucas was filming episode 6 ROTJ. They said it was not being made, and it was not in production. they even had the name of the film changed to somthing off the wall to prevent people from trying to know to much. What does that tell you about Lucas? Anyways here is an article. No no no, very very incorrect. The original name of Star Wars: Episode 4 - A New Hope was Star Wars. It was later changed to Star Wars: Episode 4 - A New Hope when they wanted to make the other movies. The original name of Star Wars: Episode 6 - Return of the Jedi was Star Wars: Episode 6 - Revenge of the Jedi, however Lucas decided that a Jedi is not to seek revenge, therefore at last minutes notice he changed it to Star Wars: Episode 6 - Return of the Jedi.

Since the definitions of annulation from dictionary.com make no sense in context of that sentence, I shall just say this.. Long before most people at ProBoards were born is when Lucas said "12 movies is too much". Star Wars Episodes 4-6 are Episodes 6-12 in YOUR current view of 12 movies.

Personally I am one of the people who strongly prefers the original version over the Special Editions. I don't hate the new version, but I definitely prefer the original. My reasons: 1. Greedo does not shoot first. This is total crap & it weakens the Han Solo character. When you grow up worshipping Harrison Ford, this is an unforgivable sin. 2. Several of the scenes that were added back in, especially the Jabba scene & the breif scene with Biggs in Ep. 4 are really weak & should not have been added in. Deleted scenes are often deleted for a reason. 3. I dislike both song changes in ROTJ. I know a lot of people won't agree with me about the song at the end, but personally I always really liked the way the ewok song swelled & merged with the credits music. The new song at that point does not fit with the rest of the soundtrack in my opinion; it's way too low-key. In fact, it reminds me of rather lame videogame music. 4. Millions of people grew up with the original trilogy. Having seen these films dozens of times, to not have them available is quite infuriating for many people. This is why many people, including myself, may never buy the DVD set. However, the things that were only minor additions, like the special effects shots that show more of Cloud City, Mos Espa, etc. are pretty nice & not too grating. I am not a fan of the addition of young Anakin over the old one though-- they didn't sub in Ewan McGregor & they shouldn't have added Hayden. I already have the O-OT on DVD and I agree with everything else except the Hayden comment. Vader returned in the form he took before he went to the dark side so this is perfectly acceptable to me. George Lucas is a screenwriter. He writes movie scripts. Generally screenwriters will rewrite movies from scratch even if they're on their fourth draft (often the final one). If Lucas wants to change the story of Star Wars 30 years after the first one came out, he is allowed to. If he wants young anakin, then that is what you must accept. Because when he changes it, your old memories are..old memories. Gone. Not valid.

Star Wars really isn't the story of Anakin. Lucas started with 4 for a reason. To make the Original Triligy the story of Luke and the Prequel Trilogy the story of Anakin. Yes, Anakin plays a pretty major role in the OT, but it's not entirely his story. It's more based around Luke. So the idea of three others is plausable.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that when this first began it was planned for a movie spanning 6 episodes but was cut down and they only used a part of that script to produce the first movie, then as success came along they continued that and was the reason they made the parts leading up to the first starwars movie. Im probably wrong so star wars fans correct me Wasnt episode 3 the final episode to be made that was originally planned by Lucas anyway?
