Sore tonsils mean they are doing their job. They are a part of your imune system. Thats what I was about to say. I don't think you should ever take them out. It may be a sign to start taking care of your body. Stop drinking soda and eating candy and cake all the time. Thats the way I feel about it anyways. There are exceptions however such as allergies.

they wouldn't take themout so I had to suffer yeah that sucks but you apparantly needed you tonsils because it cleans you blood? Kidneys and liver clean your blood, tonsils are part of your immune system, but considering the fact that roughly more than 75% of all people have had them removed, I'd say it doesn't really harm you if they're not there. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsils

Who here has had there tonsils taken out? This makes me mad for the past week I have had a sore throat and today I looked in my mouth and I see redness with well I wont explain but it looks yucky I'm 35 years old and they say the older you get the tougher it is on people to remove them is this true or just a rumor. www.drhull.com/EncyMaster/T/tonsils.htmlI had mine removed when I was 15. It wasn't the finest moment. I had chronic tonsilitis growing up, so finally after about the 6th time they said I should get them removed. They usually won't remove your tonsils unless you've had it several times. After my surgery was the hardest, ugh I had a killer headache and my throat felt 10times worse than my worse case of tonsilitis! I could only eat cold smooth things.. like Italian ice and things like that. I lost weight because of it. I also had to keep water on hand at all times for 2 weeks. It was very sore, but since.... I haven't gotten too many sore throats. It was worth it for me.
