my dog is ill and old~prayers needed~

i am not very religious but i hope that god will follow after my wishes of letting my dog stay longer so i am in need of prayers being sent to precious kisses herbert and also some prayers that i could say before i go to bed tonight

Prayers - Pray from your heart. A simple request to God is all that's needed.
Good luck with your dog... however, keep in mind that if he's ill, it might be the bigger kindness to let him go.

i am not ready to lose her yet she is only 11 and my last dog lived till she was 16

Eleven? Oh, honey, let her go. 11 is old, very old for a dog, as is 16. The average life expectancy for a medium sized dog is only early teens. In dog years, she is seventy-seven years old.

Also, if she's sick, she is also probably in a lot of pain. I know it's difficult, we just put down our 13 year old dog a few months ago... but she was sick too. Think of your dog, please.

I am a big dog person, and care for all dogs, even if they were trained to fight/kill, thats just me.

My dog was very, very old and she died in her sleep, no she wasn't sick, but my point is, when a dog gets to a certain age when there considered "old", it's best to just spend all your time with them in preporation for them leaving, I never expected my dog to go, but I did when she fainted, after that she just didn't move around, and I knew she was going to go, when she got in her bed, I laid on the floor next to her and kept repeating "I love you" and I slept right next to her all night, I woke up and..she had died, i'm still not over it, and I know thats not helping you at all, but i'm saying that spend the rest of your dog's time with her, and keep telling her that you love her.

I never pray, but when theres a dog involved, then I will.

she kept her cool very well and then i started to ball i havnt stopped crying all day.almost as if i have an endless supply of tears.she handed me a tissue though and told me that if the medicine works it could be longer as long as she isn't in any pain

Aww.... That's so sad, I'll be thinking of you. I don't believe in prayer but I do in advice. Put it down. I want to put my own dog down, who is 17 years, but my dad won't allow it. I know how you feel. It can be tough but it is the best thing for it.
