A year is a long time to stick to something with no forseeable reward. It's all about being patient and persistent. You won't make money instantly unless you're willing to bend laws or ethics. xD And if a year is a long time, that makes me wonder why I'm going to university for four or five years, then... and that actually costs money. And you learn things along the way. It's not a big deal, I just lost interest. So I didn't reap the rewards, okay. I'll probably do searches now and then if I remember.

Because waiting a while to get something completely free is unreasonable. I agree, if you can afford to spend the money on a gaming system, it's probably better just to buy it, but if you can't, it's a great way of getting something really cool for yourself. A year is a long time to stick to something with no forseeable reward. It's hardly "sticking to something" when all you do is change your browser's default search engine. =P

Would you like to tell us what it is? I like this post. ;DTo be truthful, the reason I didn't put in a description was because then the allegations of "OMG advertising!1!!!eleventyone!!" would have tripled, and the thread was intended for discussion, not recruitment.
Edited: Speaking of which, there's a new code out, guys! Valid all day today. ;D You can find it using the code Swidget (Swagbucks widget), which you can get here: swagbucks.com/?cmd=gn-s1-widgetgrab If you have a Google account, I recommend adding it to your iGoogle page, it's really the fastest option. If you don't have any of those sites/accounts, you can go to this blog, click the Swag Codes tab (fourth from the left), and click "Check if there's a Swagcode". The word at the top will be the code. ;D Second edit: Looks like they've posted it on the main page, too! You can also go to swagbucks.com and look at the first of the four rotating images for the code.

I never really bothered with these things cause to me its just a complete waste of time. You spend more time aiming for something worth while when you can probably use that time doing something worth while with your time. But that's just me =P

I'm really surprised people still use sites like this. It's definitely not a new concept, and I had hoped netizens had learned to pass these things up. Maybe this site isn't as shady as some of the others, but I'll gladly pass. Just curious, why pass it up? What would your concern be -- security (they don't track searches), why they give away free stuff (they put ads on searches just like Google, but they give you back a percentage in Swagbucks), etc...? I don't particularly have any concern, I just find the concept pointless. If I want something, I go to the store and buy it. I don't jack around with piddly searches and polls which award points in which I would have to spend months accumulating. I'm sure the site has redeeming qualities, but it's not my style. Even if I was into it, I'd forget all about it after 5 minutes, and then I'd have wasted 5 minutes I'll never get back. ...the thread was intended for discussion, not recruitment. Could've fooled me.

I don't jack around with piddly searches and polls which award points in which I would have to spend months accumulating. Well, not everyone has enough money to just go to the store and buy it. For instance, textbooks can cost $1,200 per year when you consider an average course-load. If I buy them used on Amazon, I might save $400 over the overinflated bookstore prices, making my costs $800 instead, and then use my year's worth of Amazon gift cards I've saved up (I'll round down here) and save another $400. To me, a savings of $800 is a lot. That's a new computer, a month's rent, a year's spending money, a paycheck at a decent job or a month's pay at a part-time retail job. ...the thread was intended for discussion, not recruitment. Could've fooled me. Why do you think I'm posting when SwagCodes come out and asking people to share hints on their favorite techniques, etc? Geesh, people. Now go to the Dragon Cave thread and yell at them for recruiting people to that site... oh, wait. It's not advertising when they talk about their site, but it is when we talk about ours? Please, take it to PM's if you still have an issue with this thread and stop derailing us.

All that debating aside, just posting to let fellow Swaggernauts (yes, that's what the name for them is ) know that today is going to be filled with SwagCodes! There's a Code out right now until 11:30 Pacific time (another 50 minutes) that's good for 1 Swagbuck... take a look here to get it. The reason today's going to be filled with Swaggage is because there was a poll where we guessed how many Facebook fans Swagbucks would have by today, and we got it right, so this is our reward! I'll post here (or edit this post if nobody replies ) with locations of more SwagCodes if I get them. ;D

This site has definitely been taking the internet by storm lately. ;D I've seen some links in sigs here, so I'm curious how popular it is. For those who don't know who it is, it's a site that you use to search the internet, kind of like Google. You can also trade in cellphones and old video games, submit poll ideas, and interact with the community in general. You can win Swagbucks from searching, submitting poll ideas, using their links when shopping online, referring friends, etc. (Swagbucks are kind of like a virtual point system... anyone remember those old-fangled arcade tickets? ) You then trade in Swagbucks for prizes like books, comics, iPods, gift cards, etc. Are you a member? How have you made out with it so far? What are your favourite prizes? ;D What's your favourite method of earning Swagbucks?Important: If you aren't registered yet and go to sign up, use this SwagCode: CASHISKING. If you sign up with it, you'll get 5 free Swagbucks! And I'm sure any current members will be happy to help you get started. ^^ To answer my questions myself: Are you a member? How have you made out with it so far?Yes. I've gotten four (almost five now) $5 Amazon.ca gift cards since May 21st. I also entered a few Swagstakes, but haven't won anything yet. We'll see. Chester Bennington's guitar WILL be mine. ;D What are your favourite prizes?Amazon gift certificates. ;D I'm gonna need to buy textbooks. -sighs- I'm planning to add up all the gift certificates in my account (hopefully I'll have a $100+ balance by then!) to help defray the textbook costs. What's your favourite method of earning Swagbucks?Tricky choice... but I think I'll go with SwagCodes. The thrill of the hunt is awesome. ;D The code hunts where you have to go different places to find letters and put them together, or solve puzzles with clues to get your reward... I find those stimulating and just plain fun. (Note: Please keep your referral link to your signature line only. And I'd also like to keep posts thoughtful, not spammy. I'm intending this to be a discussion thread where we can exchange ideas to help each other get Swagbucks, kinda like the Dragon Cave thread, and I don't want this thread locked due to promotion. )I took 10 seconds to Google and found a website that'll give you the codes usually within 1-15 minutes after they're released..

I took 10 seconds to Google and found a website that'll give you the codes usually within 1-15 minutes after they're found.. A website can give you the location of codes, but if they give you the actual codes, you're breaking the rules by using it, and they're breaking the rules by giving them out. You could get deactivated (blocked from using Swagbucks), so watch out.
