They're everywhere Not as bad as last summer, but they're still an annoyance. Allow for me to explain. Last summer, we had some kind of infestation of bees (pardon my ignorance for a moment, but I don't know exactly which ones they were) that made a hole in the outside wall of our garage, got in the wall and spent all summer chewing away until they finally broke to the inside. By the time our first frost hit, our garage was inhabitable - I have a huge fear of being stung. So this year they haven't returned to the garage, but they're still everywhere. Bumble bees don't bother me. It's the others that get to me. Wasps, hornets and yellowjackets are NOT my friend, and if they even get near me I start to freak out. Just typing that sentence gave me goosebumps. Why this topic, you might ask? We finally got my boyfriend's car fixed and moved outside and since he's working today, I figured I'd go outside for a bit and clean it out. It needs to be vacuumed, shampooed and wiped down, it's filthy. I had time to get from the front door to the car (20-30 feet) and had seen five. Two with dangly legs, and three without. That was enough for me. I don't know if it was like peak hour for bee activity or whatever, but that's too much for me to handle. Is anyone else having problems with them this summer? Also, does anyone know if there's a way to get rid of these pests without actually finding the nest? I don't know where they're nesting and frankly I would be mortified if I saw it anywhere around here.

I hate them as well. bumble Bees aren't a problem, but wasps and everything else...i hate them. Even if they won't sting unless I seriously provoke them, I don't like them...because how do I get by them without provoking them when they're in my way?
The problem is that wasps and stuff like to live around man-made structures... i don't want them where i live!

These guys are aggressive and will sting for no reason other than they landed on me. I haven't been stung in years, and I don't feel like getting it today either.

If I am outside and I see a yellowjacket, I watch it. I watch to see where it lands, then I check the spot out. If there is a nest, I wait till early in the morning to spray it. I haven't had any problems with yellowjackets for a long time.

We've had an infestation of those Cow Killers. Nasty stingers. Especially the ones with wings.
