Pat apparently can't make up his mind, but now we can give away secrets, here's something you all might like to know about. For those who have accounts on multiple ProBoards forums, have trouble keeping track, or just want and easier way to login, have no fear. In v5, a new feature is coming out to give you a universal account across every forum you're registered on. Not only does it let you have one login for all of your forums, making it easier to keep track of everything, but it also lets you know how many messages you have on each forum under your account, and other nifty things. You may worry about security with something like this, but that has also been taken care of. Every login takes you to a ProBoards secure server for whenever you log in to your account. Registration for these accounts is simple. It doesn't matter if you use different usernames or different emails or anything, you'll be able to sign up for this universal account very easily. But it won't be like you have the same name on every forum, will it? Will people be able to know who you are on each forum if they know you from another one? It's just the same login credentials. You can still use whatever display name, profile layout, etc. you want.

I think, that you basically link all of your accounts to your 'super' account. >.> my memory's fuzzy. i was more impressed with the admin panel. -nod-

i think it is. yeah, codes won't work anymore, but it'll be OK because editing it'll be relatively easy. much easier than trying to add js and whatnot crap. xD well of course there will be some changes to learn at the start but thats half the fun i think If anyone remembers V4 being rolled out, many had beta tested it, and there was a very busy support board to help with questions. Hopefully this time with openbeta like in 4.5, you'll have enough time to play before everyone has to upgrade. But in any case, there's now enough mods to help in support this time.

and how much do you expect to have once done? That's extremely hard to quantify, any guess I gave would be a wild one and probably completely off.

I have a figure in my mind which will probably turn out to be pretty accurate, BUT people would then use it as a "HOW CLOSE ARE THEY" often in development, line counts stay the same for a couple of weeks even though massive progress is being made, or decrease. Its the nature of coding. While a figure would work internally, having it external isnt a good metric

How many lines of code are you guys at now? 58,903. That sounds like a lot for a forum service. Just 1,097 more lines to make it look nice and neat.
