Board URL: csirolplay.proboards.com/index.cgiProblem: First, I want to aologize if this is in the wrong board, but I thought that maybe this was the most appropriate place to put it. I'm trying to get a user legend to show what my colours represent, bt I'm kinda confused about how to link my member colours to the user legend. You see, my member names show up in red, which I think is the default for the skin I'm using. But I want my member names t show in a different colour (white will do for now until I'm more sure of myself). The only way I can think of to do that is to create a new group and assign them into it, but that is going to be time-consuming, not to mention the fact that you have to set a star limit. How do I get a) my members colour to change and b) how do I get it to link to the user legend? I'm so sorry if this is obvious, and I feel very stupid asking, but I honestly can't think what to do and it's driving me insane. Thanks in advance.

If you want to change the member group colors, all you have to do is go into the admin panel and click MODIFY GROUP. In the modifying area, you should see a place to put a hex code for the color you want for that particular group. Place the color code into that area and once you've modified the group it should show up as the colored you specified. As far as a member legend, there are several to pick from in the code index. I particularly like this one: ProBattles User Legend . You add a member legend by placing the code in your headers and footers. You then use the color codes you used for your member groups and insert them in the proper place in the code. I hope this helps. If you want to PM me with the colors for the groups you want, I can help you with the code so all you have to do is copy it into your footers.

But, for ordinary members, would I have to make another group, and add them all in there? Thanks for the help so far!

Do you want just one group for your members or multiple groups? Either way, all you have to do is go into the admin panel and click "CREATE GROUP" and that's where you can add the individual color codes as well as set what powers you want each group to have.

Just the one group. But when I do that it asks for number of stars, but I don't want my members to have a set number of stars otherwise the stars for the member ranks wont work. (Sorry I'm such noob! )

It's okay. ;D I tried this out on my forum to see if it would work, and it does. When you're creating the group, all you have to do is set the number of stars to 0 if you don't want stars. If you do that, when you go to view their profile it shouldn't display any stars.
