My father just tried to forward a message from hotels.com or something to that effect to show my brother the rates and points that are left to use etc. but when he sent the email message it just stayed in the outbox and then the little circle of colors that the cursor turns into, when it does what I call about to freeze, showed up. So my father tried to hit the command and quit button to end Entourage and start over but the program did not quit it stayed exactly like it was. The cursor moved the entire time so the Mac its self wasn't frozen but nothing was happening with entourage. Next he took and pressed the button on the back of the computer to restart the Imac hoping to fix the problem and start all over again. Well, not so much. If anyone goes to open Entourage then their in the same state as before. The message is in the outbox waiting or trying to send it's self and the cursor almost automatically changes to the little rainbow of death as I call it with no alternative result.
How do I get everything back to normal again? We need to have the email program up and running again properly very soon because all emails are vital for work related purposes and if we can absolutely help it all emails/ contacts MUST NOT be erased because we do not know or have the information in any other form yet. The information was going to be transferred to hand written notes as I type this but I obviously can not do that if the program doesn't want to work the way it's used to.

Click out of Microsoft Entourage, into Finder or an application in which you can access the menu bar at the top of the screen. After that, click the Apple Menu, then click Force Quit. Click on Entourage, then Force Quit again.
Hopefully that helps.

I said that I can't click out of Entourage if I have it open. I had to restart the computer and just avoid not clicking on it again to access any other program.

Google it, if there is no answer, reinstall the program.

Entorauge is an email program correct? Can't you use Live Mail instead?

I probably will use something like that once I can actually access my address book again to transfer the emails over to it. Once I don't need to go through Entourage for all my information I am immediately deleting it and doing something else to lessen the chance of this reoccuring which probably includes buying a halfway decent computer instead of this piece of junk I've only had for about 6 months.
