Should the Shoutbox be visible to Guests? In the Drop-down menu for "Allow Guest Shouts", I have the selection marked with "No", which of course doesn't allow guests to make shouts on my forum. However, shouldn't this field make the Shoutbox invisible to Guests are anyone not logged in???

It appears by design this is not an option. Maybe someone in the future will write a plug in for this. For now it is there for all to view if you have it enabled.
By the way this is not a bug, should have posted this over in the General v5 Discussion board.

So it should look like this

Hi Shorty Can I just ask what you mean by place it "inbetween the code below" Do you mean the whole shoutbox code from Layout Templates > Shoutbox (or Individual Posts)? Sorry, just a bit confused and I'd also like to hide it from anyone who is not logged in |

In your forum wrapper template find and replace the current $[shoutbox] with
{if $[current_user.is_member]}
$[shoutbox]
{/if}

If you do not feel comfortable editing these on your own, you can get help doing this in the template modification section of the plugins and codes board here on support. |
