Sorry but after over 6 years as an admin I am seriously thinking of jacking it all in...I am of the silver hair brigade, as are most of my members, and I know exactly how they are going to react, even if I can get my head around all these changes, I reckon my forum is done for - people will just leave and go to Facebook, the real one, not this copy...sorry!!
The work involved must have been incredible and my praise goes out to all those that have worked many many hours on V5 but this is a place for young people now and not the likes of me...

...I'm speechless, v5 was everything that I didnt expect and not in a good way. v4's much more admin friendly, everything is right there instead of having to go through this and that to get to what you actually want in v5. None of the style tags and enhancements to have those pretty templates, ugh. I don't think i'll ever get used to v5 and i think a few people will leave proboards because of this, myself included. I dunno if i'll ever return to proboards, perhaps if v4 was made an option to have but for now invisionfree and jcink shall become my new best friends. You'll get used to it  It was rather confusing to me the first few days, but it gets so much easier when you figure out how things work. I am guessing it's probably just cause you are used to the old version at this point which is totally understandable. I think that people who were just now switching to ProBoards would LOVE the new admin panel... |

There does appear to be some page listing bugs. We are aware of this and looking into it as you read this! RF I do not know why people are suddenly associating this with Facebook. The comparison is typically being made as a result of likes and status updates, both existed long before Facebook. Everything else is still Forum like in nature. The admin panel of course has the largest wealth of updates. The user experience is largely the same with improvements. We have also already said that we will be offering a "v4 style" theme. Are you able to give any specific examples of what you see as an issue (you can feel free to PM me if you prefer). We obviously do not wish to alienate anyone, so if we can determine ways for improvements, that is ideal. |
