I did something similar to this for Patrick [ASE] which applies to all the main content boxes, but I could look into making it apply only on the main page board listings (what I assume you mean by the categories).

Yes, The categories. Shrike I'm talking about my forum page only. My home page is a custom made page. Thanks

Mike, are you still after something like this? I'm going through old requests I've forgotten and this was one. If you still need it I'll try and get it done later today.

Yes I still want it. Thanks Shrike Try this on for size. It automatically picks up the default container background colour (which is #ffffff on the default Support theme) and then turns its opacity down to the value you give it (which I've got at 10% here, 0% is totally transparent). If you want to use a specific colour, just replace " @container_background_color_1" with the usual hex code. If you want to make it more/less opaque, adjust the percentage after. This will only affect the board listings (on the main page and as sub-boards) but no other area. Themes > Colors and styles > stylesheet tab. Copy/paste to the bottom.

I would like to do this for the menu bar buttons, the nav tree, news fader (not shown in screen shot), legend, and info center as well as the board listings, but can't figure out how. Anyone able to help me out?

Hi moonbeam, From your screenshot I suspect that with 'menu bar buttons' you are referring to the 'Current Page Button'? If so, you can do this in the Visual Editor: Forum > Header (Top) > Navigation Bar > Current Page Button. Set Background Color to transparent. For the rest, just follow Shrike's methode: For the legend: .legend > .content {background-color: fade(@container_background_color_1,10%);} For the Info Center: .stats > .content {background-color: fade(@container_background_color_1,10%);} For the Nav tree: .nav {background-color: fade(@container_background_color_1,10%);} and .items {background-color: fade(@container_background_color_1,10%);} For the News: #news {background-color: fade(@container_background_color_1,10%);}
