This might be difficult to explain, but going to try anyway. In V4 which I will show a screen print, in a topic you can tell by the last post which post number it is, for instance, reply number 11 before it gives the date and time that the post was posted. Is there anyway that can be added for V5, or was that part of the Board Statistics that I removed because I didn't want the box at the bottom with all the statistics? If there was part of that code that needed to be replaced again to show reply number - is it possible to tell me what needs to be put back in? The only reason why I am asking about this, is it's easy to tell when I'm replying how many more posts I have to go before it's ready to go to a second page. It's also easier for my friends who read, to know what post they stopped at and where to start at when they go to follow the story again at a later date. I typically tell them to scroll to the bottom and if I have told them they have 2 posts to read, then to scroll up 2 posts, but I am sure it's easier for them to follow if the posts were to say "reply number" again. Reply Number as on V4 No Reply Number as on V5

PreviewFind the Post List in the Thread Template. Find this line: <span class="thread-link">$[post.thread]</span> Replace it with this: <span class="thread-link">$[post.thread]</span> <span id="post-text-$[post.id]" class="post-method"></span> <script type="text/Javascript"> {if $[post.index] == 0} var post = { page: location.href.match(/page=(\d+)/)?RegExp.$1-0:1, index: 0 }; {/if} var index = (post.page-1)*15 + post.index++; if(!location.href.match(/(\?|\&)q=/) && proboards.data("route").name == "thread"){ $("#post-text-$[post.id]").html(index == 0?"Thread started on ":"Reply #"+index+" on "); } </script>

Thank you so much!!! I just love it to say the reply number. I keep thinking that I've got everything I need and then I will suddenly see something else. Just about to post for something else too. I feel terrible having people search for things for me, but I really am not at all code savvy, where to look or what I'm searching for by name. Thanks again.

I was wondering why this didn't work for me as it is a good one.
{foreach $[post]} <tr id="$[post.content_id]" class="$[post.content_class]{if $[post.even]} even{/if}{if $[viewing_recent_posts]} recent{/if}"> <td class="$[post.unblocked_class]"> <table role="grid"> <tr> <td class="left-panel" rowspan="2"> $[post.created_by_user.miniprofile] </td> <td class="content"> <div class="content-head ui-helper-clearfix"> <div class="info"> <span class="thread-link">$[post.thread]</span> <span id="post-text-$[post.id]" class="post-method"></span> <script type="text/Javascript"> {if $[post.index] == 0} var post = { page: location.href.match(/page=(\d+)/)?RegExp.$1-0:1, index: 0 }; {/if} var index = (post.page-1)*15 + post.index++; if(!location.href.match(/(\?|\&)q=/) && proboards.data("route").name == "thread"){ $("#post-text-$[post.id]").html(index == 0?"Thread started on ":"Reply #"+index+" on "); } </script> <span class="date">$[post.date]</span> {if $[post.how_posted]} <span class="post-method">via $[post.how_posted]</span> {/if} $[post.likes] </div> <div class="controls"> $[post.quote_button] $[post.edit_button] $[post.likes.button] $[post.select_options] </div> </div> <h3 class="title aria-hidden">Post by $[post.created_by_user.name] on $[post.date]</h3> <div class="message">$[post.message]</div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="foot"> {if $[post.edited]} <div class="edited_by"><span class="italic">Last Edit:</span> $[post.edited.date] by $[post.edited.by_user]{if $[post.edited.reason]}: $[post.edited.reason]{/if}</div> {/if} {if $[post.created_by_user.signature]} <div class="signature">$[post.created_by_user.signature]</div> {/if} </td> </tr> </table> </td> {if $[post.is_blocked]} <td class="$[post.blocked_class] content center"> <div class="message note pad-bottom">This post is hidden</div> $[post.display_blocked_post_button] </td> {/if} </tr> {/foreach} {if !$[post]} <tr class="last"><td class="last center" colspan="1">No posts were found.</td></tr> {/if}

One of my posters pointed out to me that the reply number is not accurate. For instance, on my v5 bug report thread, the last reply on page 1 is reply 29 (which would be correct, since the OP doesn't count as a reply). But when you go to page 2, the first reply on that page says Reply 15. Page 3 starts with 30, page 4 with 45..
I have my settings for 30 posts per page, so is there some variable I need to set to make it work right? like maybe here - "var index = (post.page-1)*15" ?

It is based on the default 15... so yes, change that to 30 right there.

I thought that might be the case, so I'm in the process of doing that now. However, you may want to add that note to your post so others know that they need to change it if they aren't using the default of 15.
Thanks for the code though! My members are happy to have it!

This isn't working for on my forum atm, I noticed it going wrong about a week ago. Thread is now on page 25 but as you can see in the screen shot the post numbering isn't correct.

Or perhaps now each page is being numbered individually?
