I am surprised I haven't seen this anywhere yet... it's so easy and will replace the standard ProBoards favicon with your own (for an example, see our African Grey Parrot forum) Create a favicon (I use one of the many online generators) Download your file (name it favicon.ico) and host it on an external server (I use Dropbox to host ours) Go to Admin - Themes - Layout templates Click Forum Wrapper Find the text (likely line 5) <title>$[title] | $[forum.name]</title> Below that, add on a new line <link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="http://(your_url)/favicon.ico" />
Replace " (your_url)" with your own link. Now your site is truly yours This is what it looks like in Chrome:

You can edit the template for the forum wrapper (similar in scope to the global header/footer) to add a favicon in by hand, you just need an image link. You'd then edit the forum wrapper template (Themes > Layout Templates) and copy/paste this line just above the </head> tag: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="LINK TO IMAGE" />
Cute favicon ^^ Shrike helped me do it the above way which looks pretty similar to how you've done it. solariamock.freemessageboards.com/Mine's a bit PB esque but I hope to create a dragon icon or two one day This generator is also really good: www.favicon.cc/

This still works when dropped in Global Header without having to edit the Template..
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://yourfaviconhere.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
I also use dropbox because it will host an .ico

That's good to know. I had to png mine to get photobucket to take them. Shall try dropbox in future.

I was not able to get it to work by following the original instructions of adding a line in the template wrapper. Does it have to be a specific file format?
I uploaded an ico file to dropbox and use the link to that file in place of (my url) in the script.

It's worth noting that, be it a bug or some security thing, Chrome will only show favicons added to the page source if they're inside the <head> tags. Adding it by the Global Header means it won't show for them because it won't be inside the <head>.

It worked for me the other day when I added it in my Forum wrapper, but now it doesn't for some reason. Any idea why that's the case?

Maybe I am blind or something. Do you mean the share link button, cause that's all I have. Can't find any public link anywhere, or I'm just stupid, hehehe. The only other link I get is www.dropbox.com/s/3k6p4rews39peev/favicon.ico but when I add that, then it doesn't show either, so....
