Hello:
I'm looking for a code that sorts threads in one board alphabetically by thread title (instead of sorting all of the threads on the site).
We are an RPG forum and we have a board with all of the character biographies inside, and we used to have it sorted alphabetically in order to be able to find the bios. But with the new V5, there is no way to automatically do this within the board settings.
If there is any way to do this, we would be very appreciative. Thank you so much!

I am also looking for a plugin or code to do this. We used to use the 'Sort Sticky Threads Alphabetically' code on v4, but that doesn't work anymore. When going through character or NPC listings it's much easier browse the board when the names are all alphabetical instead of this time assortment, and it only gets worse as the site continues!
It'd be great if there was just an option to sort threads alphabetically regardless of being stickied or locked, but at this point I'd be happy with anything that makes it possible to sort things alphabetically on certain boards, not the entire forum like MJ Delancy is also requesting.

FWIW based on my experience building a plugin (yes only one, so take the following for what it is worth...) I don't think this can be done in a plug-in, it needs to be a system change by Proboards. Why not with a plugin? Because of how plugins work. They only know about the data that is on one page at a time. If you have more than one page of results in a board (typical), a plugin would know nothing about those older posts on other pages. It would only sort on the current page. This would be a mess and confusing for users. So I'd suggest making a request for a system enhancement rather than bumping a plugin request that cannot be built. And because this actually is causing me problems, I created the following: support.proboards.com/thread/455862/sorting-subject-created

Perfect. Will get to keeping up with that one then! Too bad it took 2 months for us to get this answer D: But is better than continuing to bump something that may be impossible! I do think I read some comment elsewhere that mentioned something like what you're saying, so I'm going to assume you're correct.

Ahh, that actually makes a lot of sense. All right then, thanks, ermentrude!
