What are we to expect when the day comes?

My friends are still using the old original site. Just posting away daily.

I've had the Betazone duplicate site for a little over a week. I know I have some tinkering to do to get things right.

So, when the day comes.... will ALL of the editing or new plugins going to carry over to the permanent site?

Also, will all of the post counts be back dated to the day that I opted to try out betazone?  Will the posts my members are making (at the original site) right now be lost when the transition to the permanent site happens. They are not posting on the betazone site at all. Hmm? Not even sure if they can. 

I'm just worried that if I wait for me to finish tinkering with betazone, that all that is going on at the regular place will be lost.

No data will be lost on conversion, however the original forum will convert, not the betazone one, so anything new on the betazone site will be lost.

Thank you for that link. I've been looking everywhere for a board or thread SOMETHING where it's telling us what's to come besides plugins and features. It's a bit scarey knowing both our original and betazone sites will be gone for good. I'll go check out that link now. Thanks!

If you have converted to V5, your original site is already V5. If not, it will simply be converted, not gone. Betazone forums will stick around for a little while after the conversion.

Reminder: Your BetaZone site is a copy of your forum to try out features of v5. Nothing posted on your BetaZone site will be carried over to your forum after it is converted to v5. Apart from testing v5 features, your members should continue to post at your v4.5 site. Those posts will be kept permanently. Posts on your test site will not be kept.

If you get the design the way you want it on the copy site, save the theme and make note of the plugins you used.  Once the real site is converted, import the theme and plugins -- and you quickly have your forum the way you want it.

I'm not in v5 yet. I'm still testing things in betazone.

That was one of my big questions... about the features I've added to my betazone site if they get converted over to the permanent one, or if it's as you said... Thanks.

Ok. Question.

When the change happens, will we have the betazone still up and running for a few days later after the original has been converted? Or will it all be done in one pop?

Thanks for your post. I am really liking the plugin feature. I still have a way to go to get things figured out. Some are thing's you've mentioned. I still have to learn how to "import a theme" and things like that. So far, it's just a matter of time. Everything now seems so much more simpler to figure out. Cool.

Betazone will remain online until some time after the April 29th conversion date. If you convert before the end of betazone, your betazone forum would remain the same, allowing you to copy everything over to the real forum.
