Tagging a Group with Text Replacement

I thought I was a genius when I created a way to tag a group of people all at once (staff, committees) by using "censored words" effectively as text replacement.

For instance @.committee is censored to @.joe, @.bob, @.lucy (without the dots of course). I even went a step further to make "committee" a restricted username so that no one could inadvertently mess it up in the future.

The text replacement side of it works, members simply type the one group tag and all of the tagged names show up, BUT no one actually receives a notification.

I am guessing that this is a matter of timing - the notifications are processed before the text replacement. Does that sound right? And does anyone have a better idea of how to accomplish this?

I honestly don't have a clue other than your way to do it, but I am definitely interested in a way to do it, it'd be fantastic.

Unfortunately it won't work this way because the censored word's replacement isn't the one that's actually posted to the thread, so the forum doesn't know to fire off a notification. For example, if you add a censored word to your censored words list, then make a post using that censored word you will see your replacement word display after the post is made. But if you go back and delete that censor from the censored words list and revisit your post, you'll see that the replacement word is no longer visible.

Group tags aren't a bad idea, though. I'd recommend making a new topic in the feature requests area to see if something like this can be added in the future
