V4 News Fader 1.1.2

Another weekend project. It does exactly what you think it does! But just in case you weren't around for ProBoards v4, here's what it looks like. The Headline 1 text fades between different messages.



The plugin now grabs whatever you have in your forum's news feed and tosses it into the plugin, eliminating the need to specify news items in two different areas when you want to disable the plugin. If you do not have this functionality you'll need to update to the latest version of the plugin.

Note that BBCode beyond what's already available for use in the news feed isn't supported (no way to integrate that into the plugin), but you can use as much HTML as you like, which gives you the option to do everything you could with full BBCode and more.

Includes options for:
- Title Bar Text
- Height
- Text Align
- Font Weight


If you want to center the title bar text, add this to the bottom of Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS > Style Sheet on each of your themes.

.v4news > .title-bar { text-align: center; }

If you'd like to add your forum's newest user and last updated thread to the news fader, add this to the top of Themes > Layout Templates > Home.

@xsteveuk: Add this to the top of Structure > Layout Templates > Home on each of your themes. It should do what you want.

Is it possible to edit this code to change the text size and color?

This is a great plug in! However, I notice that it twitches after scrolling through the news about every 10 times or so. By this I mean when its ready to load the next news message the box shrinks while the text is absent.

Just add some HTML tags for font colors.

<font color="red">This will show up as red in the news fader</font>

<font style="color: red;">This will also show up as red</font>

Is some of your text exceeding the height you set for the news fader? Or did you set the height for the news fader incorrectly? The height must be set as a number, followed by the letters px.

Example:

So both the most recent thread and the most recent member are showing in red by default. And the "welcome newest member" is smaller than the text I changed with  HTML.
How do I change those?
