Thelotia: City in Crisis takes place in a contemporary fantasy world known as I-Megália where there exists a city known as Thelotia. This city state (ruled by the far-away Ellusian Empire) has built a strong society with great economic and social progress while balancing a relationship with neighboring tribes and their Imperial overlords that often have different ideas in mind. The city grew and soon stood as a testament to human progress; a beacon of basic rights for all creatures across the world. Yet as time passed cracks began to appear in their society as people viewed the natural mana to be of ill effect towards its people (indeed, those who can not use magic experience a sort of high if used) and soon legislation condemning mana and those who used it were passed. What happened next was nothing less than complete chaos as the tribes (many of which used mana to harness their magic) raised up a mighty host to stop the City State from imprisoning their people. After a great deal of fighting Thelotia came out the victor and mana use became illegal within the City State. Those events twenty years ago became known as the Great Riots followed by the Thelotian War against the Zoi Confederacy.
But despite Thelotia's victory they didn't capture everyone and soon a Rebellion was formed. The outcome this Rebellion intends is unknown and the stakes have never been higher - will you strive for the rights of your fellow man or protect the status-quo? Or do you just want to see it all burn? This is a fantasy RP that's influenced by YOUR actions, you get to decide how it ends.
Thelotia is a very in depth RP with a rich back story. It has many layers of game play, for those just wanting to play as one character wallowing along in the chaos, you can do that! But if you're looking for more intellectual role-play filled with political and business dealings, you can do that here too!
With frequent updates and friendly players this site is constantly evolving. All new players are welcomed by a friendly staff of admins that are ready to help you with any problem you may have.
Features
+ Living, breathing, expansive world consisting of numerous continents, countries and factions. The work of your characters and those of other players shape the world around you and have a definite effect on the game. Eg. Excessive looting in a particular area could lead to tighter security nearby, making things harder for the rebellion. Indiscriminate attacks could lead to severe repercussions by the opposing faction and even your own faction.
+ There will always be something to do. Every week, faction leaders will hand out missions to the members of their faction as well as to larger groups with the sole aim of improving the standing of their faction. These missions will have varying different effects on the world as well as the overall story, some may have a larger impact and be one of a series of missions that will have a large effect on the plot, others may be smaller, more menial tasks that won’t be as impactful. On top of this, at any given point, so long as you have a character not currently doing anything, you can always message your faction leader and ask for a mission. There will definitely always be something you can do.
+ Everyone will have somewhere to start. One of the major issues that I’ve encountered with RP forums is that sometimes, a newer player can struggle to mingle and fit in with perhaps more experienced role players. To prevent this, if you create a character within a specific faction, as admins, we will instantly point you towards a thread that you may want to get involved in, or will make an open one to get you started. Even if you do not have a faction, the admins themselves will have a number of characters who can freely interact with characters who don’t have any particular alignment.
+ Interweaving and complex stories. The major arcs on the site will be no simple, menial thing. These will be complex, narrative heavy stories that draw influence from the vast amount of lore that has been collected through the process of creating this world. Faction stories will flow separate to one another, allowing characters within to bond and get to know each other, but they will also crash together. In some instances, characters may find themselves having to team up to fight a stronger opponent, in other cases they may find themselves standing against each other.
Hope to see you there!
Vincent and Jordan.
