It sure isn't feeling a lot like Christmas around here in New England. It is going to be in the 60's tomorrow and it is the first day of winter. *RANT* --I am so tired of hearing newscasters and random people who complain about the cold weather. I Just want to slap them up side the head and tell them -if you don't like the weather in an area of the country that is famous for it, then why the heck are you living here? Move to Florida or somewhere else warm year round. It would be as if I moved to Arizona and incessantly complained about the heat.

Hahhahahahhaha, I know how you feel. I'm constantly amazed by the people here in the desert, where we historically always get at least into the 110's, complain that it's hot. Really? REALLY?! You moved close to Death Valley why?

Same here in the UK, where complaining about the weather is a national pastime. It's worst when snow falls, as we're never prepared for it, and everything slows or stops when under an inch of it falls! Snow in winter? Outrageous!!!
Hot summers days used to be a problem here, too. Only fairly recently has the argument that we don't get many of them to justify spending on cooling systems, pretty much ceased. Retailers finally realised that opressively hot shops lose sales as today's generation (both employees and customers) wont put up with the discomfort.
I think weather groans will only get worse as our planet's weather seems to be changing and we are all getting more unusual patterns.

If you're in Wisconsin and complain about the cold. Well you might be from the South.

Some people don't have the means to move. Also i don't picture people moving every time they encounter weather they don't like. People are in certain countries because that's where they were born and it's their home. Or they moved for work.
I live in Canada you want to drop everything and come here just for snow?
I like most things about living where i live...except -30 degrees Celsius winter. Guess i should just abandon my home and go in dept just to move to Mexico where i'll probably get shot by a drug lord or something.

I understand what you're saying Yang, but I was mostly being sarcastic. What I mean is, why complain so loudly about something that is beyond your control and EXPECTED of the part of this country. And this state, Connecticut, in particular. Again it would be like me moving to Maine and then complaining about all the pine tree. And yes,yes people should just pick up and move to another part of the country when they so obviously hate where they are living now. Or maybe they can just learn to keep their mouths shut until something really unexpected happens with the weather? Maybe like a blizzard in August??? I'll see you in Canada ...I know what the heck to expect as far as the weather goes and I wouldn't bitch and moan about it.

I'm in New Hampshire. At 7pm (local time) this evening, a Winter Storm Warning and an Ice Storm Warning will start for northern parts of the state.

I'm the opposite -- my city only gets really hot for 2-3 months each year, but because of that, I'd like to move somewhere farther north.

Hasn't snowed where I am since 1999. I'm used to eight months of 100+ degrees.

I lived in Massachusetts as a kid. I used to wake up every day of the winter season hoping snow had fallen the previous night, and that schools would be closed. When it did happen every once in a while, it was one of the best feelings ever - should I go out and play in the snow, or stay in with hot chocolate and video games? And when the schools closed on Friday mornings, opening up a 3-day snowy weekend - I won't even get started on THAT nostalgic majesty.
Now I live in California. It never snows and everyone's miserably commuting to their obligations 24/7.
