Keeps track of each members current posting rank, and pops up a congrats message when they reach a new rank.  it also sends a notification to admin for each user that gains a rank.

user can also click their name on their profile view to see the history of their rank ups.

NEW to v1.1.0
you can now add color to member's names based on stored posting rank


DISCLAIMER:  based on the way it currently works, if the admin name doesnt already appear on the page, the admin wont get a notification about the rank up.  I have a request in to change that.

Hey Wormopolis,

I know you're waiting on responses from peoples to fix bugs but I did download this from the library and had at least a little improvement over the previous bug--I basically made a 'rank' for each post from 1-5, then logged into a test account that currently had 2 posts. Upon logging in on the hompeage, a dialogue popped up letting me know I had reached the 2-post rank. Then I went and posted once, should've reached the 3rd posting rank but didn't get a pop-up, so then I posted again for the 4th rank, still didn't get it, then the 5th, and didn't get it. I wasn't sure if this was helpful info for you or not but before I didn't get any dialogue and this time I did upon logging in so I thought I'd inform you on that

EDIT: It also logged the one rank (2 posts, the one that popped up) in RankWatch but not the further 3. But hey, that's one at least! ;D

When you reach the next Posting Rank, you get a pop-up box letting you know you reached the next rank with a customized message the admin puts into the plugin interface and admins get a new menu button in their nav menu that's called RankWatch where the past 200 'rank ups' are recorded, so if Member A gets Rank 1 then it tells me Member A Rank 1 Date Achieved basically.

Wormopolis, just letting you know I checked the site now and see you were testing on it. I have four 'level ups' in my RankWatch recorded for you.

yeah they WERE happening, but the dialog was stuck to the top of the forum so that is why I think you were missing it. I changed something to keep it fixed on screen now. as for rankwatch history, that is the key issue I currently have that I am waiting on approval for.

Awesome! I'll do some testing to make sure the pop-up seems all good now. And ah ohkay about the RankWatch, makes sense, though odd that it only recorded one of my level ups and 4 of yours. I'll wait patiently for whatever the fix is you have coming, no problem ^^

when I was testing my rankups, you had a link on the page.

that fixed dialog only works in the version Im running on developer site. its not fixed on yours. I was going to push that version to library after I hear from Tim. otherwise I have to rewrite a bunch of stuff.

I'm going to stand behind a large boulder over here as I make this post. I don't want you to throw things at me.

I downloaded this plug in and installed it. I was kind of hoping it could do more. It's great that it gives a pop up for the new rank, don't get me wrong, I just kind of wanted to be able to expand on each rank when it happened and it looks like this is just one message for all rank ups.

On my forum I use American federal politicians that have been convicted of crimes for the ranking. I thought this would be a great way to give the members some info on their new rank.

For instance the first rank is:

John Pickering, Federal Judge appointed by George Washington was impeached and convicted in absentia by the U.S. Senate for drunkenness and use of profanity on the bench in spite of the fact neither act was a high crime or misdemeanor. (1804)

next rank is

Matthew Lyon (Democratic Republican-Kentucky). First Congressman to be recommended for censure after spitting on Roger Griswold (Federalist-Connecticut). The censure failed to pass. Also found guilty of violating John Adams' Alien and Sedition Acts and sentenced to four months in jail, during which he was re-elected (1798)

Anyway, would it be possible to allow for different pop ups/different messages, for different rankings? (ducking...)

its possible.. but it also means you will have to store the postcount number for each ranking because it wont know them automatically.

and I wont work on this plugin until the feature request goes through that I need to make rankwatch work like I want it to.

Meaning what? I would need a key or a super key? I had to get a super key for the rank up anyway.

no no. in the plugin itself. the rank message become an autoform. and you need to enter all of the ppostcounts for each rank change you have setup in the members section of the admin panel. the code cant get them automatically.

Well, I have to do that anyway with the rank up. Not a biggy, just copy and paste but once in place, it would be awesome.

I had no clue this request/idea would turn into this biggest headache in the long run for you Wormopolis I'm truly sorry for you now. but hey look on the bright side you made it work me even if it is buggy ^_^
