I'm looking for a plugin that would allow the forum members to adopt pets that would grow up automatically over the course of a few weeks.
I would like to be able to put in 1 "baby" picture 2 or 3 "adolescent" pictures and 2 to 4 "adult" pictures for each pet and have the program choose who gets which of each set of pictures, but have it set so that adolescent1 grows into a specific adult pet or 2. Its difficult for me to explain so please ask questions and I'll try and come up with a picture that explains it better. I would like a page where each baby pet would be listed along with the ability to adopt that pet a set number of times IE Dog1 can be adopted 5 times, Cat1 can be adopted 3 times
The pets a user owned would be viewable on their profile preferably in a new tab.
It would be awesome if users could gift pets to other users or even trade them but that is not required for now
I have a tutorial on the php coding for the growing adoptables I just have no clue on how to transfer that to a plugin and set up the extra page/tab needed.

This would be AWESOME. I put my vote in for its creation! =D Unbelievably beneficial for RPGs.

But probably a bit more versatile so others could use it. Like.. a slot for baby, adolescent, and adult where you can input the name of the creature's species (or whatever) and picture for each in the plugin interface and then set how many days (and maybe days only count if posted on) it takes for the baby to age to the next stage. That seems a bit more adaptable to different sites than the OP, unless I'm misunderstanding the OP. If it's more ambiguous like what I just suggested, I could foresee many, many RPGs making use of this because a "pet" type of thing is quite common. Heck, you could use this for growing plants, even!

Thats basically the idea I had, except I'd like to be able to have the option of one baby growing into a few adolescents and then a few adults.
So I could have it set that there are 6 adult outcomes that stem from 1 baby and 3 adolescents

If the images are remotely hosted I imagine a key could handle that... Wormopolis, not asking you to take this on cuz if you want to you will of your own volition, but do you by chance know if this is possible since we already have three people getting excited? Hate to find out later down the road it wouldn't work

You should provide that, then, evecorvin, for anyone who wants to take a look and considers making the plugin ^^

This is something you'd have to use JavaScript for, I'm afraid - plugins do not support PHP.

Is it possible via javascript, David Clark? Wormopolis made it sound like javascript wasn't an option to achieve the effect so I'm not sure
