Okay thank you for your reply - I appreciate it
So the notification automatically goes through to the other player that you moved once you click 'I moved' is that what you mean?
I thought notify player would come up sooner and that is how you tell the other player you moved, but I must have that part wrong?
On a tablet you can see the chess game quite well, but once you click 'your move' and it goes into the actual game chess board - when you try to make a piece to play/move it won't move. The mouse can't drag and move it - the piece stays put.
A lot have tablets on my forum not laptops or desktops, and they are frustrated they can't play the game from a tablet.

that is the normal behavior (Im also assuming you HAVE the chess companion plugin that does notfications). but your bigger issue is that the drag and drop stuff that works on a computer doesnt work on a tablet. Tim Camara does the attachment drag and drop work on a tablet that you know of? because I used the same function for moving chess pieces...

So I should ask Tim Camara about it if he does the work on moving pieces on a tablet?
I have the Chess Notification
I noticed this below in the Chess System:
If you have the chess notification plugin, you can signify whose turn it is with some CSS added to your forum CSS td.activeTURN {background-color: #AAFFAA} - will affect the entire cell the active player's stats appear in td.activeTURN div.chessStats {border: 2px solid #00FF00} - will affect just the box with wins/losses/ranks
So should I add that to the CSS and if so where?
Thank you for your help

That is referring to the player boxes above the board. You can make them appear different depending on whose turn it is.
The key in the companion, what do you have its permissions set to?

Members and Staff - so that should be okay, right?
Just wish the pieces would move on a tablet

should be members and staff for "write" and read can be "everyone" or "members and staff"
the plugin uses a drag and drop which is based on mouse movements. tablets dont really use mouse devices, so Im not sure how I could even make that work

Thank you for the reply - I have it set to what you said above.
Ah well, never mind about the tablet, if it can't be used to play the chess game not a lot anyone can do unless someone comes up with a solution. It would be wonderful if they did.

Just had a brain wave based on what you said: 'mouse movements' lol Went on Amazon UK to see if you can get a mouse that is compatible with a tablet and found an Adapter Cable, £2.95, that you can plug into a Tablet and then you plug your mouse into it! You just have to make sure the Adapter Cable is suitable for the Tablet you have though. Problem solved

I know a library exists to convert touchpad events into mouse events, but I think they have to be hosted. Thats why I wanted to hear from Tim Camara to see if they already have something

I don't see how you would do it, since if the forum is up on the screen, there's nowhere to drag it from. Not sure why drag events wouldn't work on a tablet in the general case though.

I found a library that converts touch events into mouse events though

Well I spoke too soon, one of the members bout the adapter cable for the tablet and used his mouse. Alas, it still won't allow the chess pieces to move! What a dreadful shame!
Can that be done then to make it work on a tablet?

Would have to find a server to host that library
