Hi, sugarn. Are you setting the NPC to a group that has multiple users in it? If so, you may want to consider creating a new group for each NPC and assigning that group to the NPC. Then, when someone is allowed to use that NPC, you simply add them to that NPC's group. Make the group (in Admin > Members > Member Groups) as either petition or private - that way people can't just join and leave that group whenever they want. If you want me to clarify more, just let me know.

Doesn't have multiple users in it. What I am looking for isn't exactly like the NPC service. It's more like an anonymous feature. I used a super key up thinking this was what I was looking for and while it's close...it doesn't work for what I'm trying to accomplish. Lynx For example, I don't want the user to be able to toggle the NPC on and off. I don't want the person who can use these npc's to able to apply it to everyone else. I have a test account and it isn't a staff member. Also noticed that if you click refesh on the page with the person that is a NPC player, it exposes the person's real name and avatar and then turns the NPC graphic on so people will know who posted. That ruins the fun for my board. Lastly, at the bottom, it shows the name of the person that is posting as the NPC. So I think what I am looking for is close but I'm looking for something that allows a NPC like anonymous posting where nothing about the person is revealed. Make sense? I will show you what I mean.

I have a test account and it isn't a staff member. The plugin was designed for staff use (since users typically create their own characters under multiple accounts), so they're able to apply it to every post. There's no way to circumvent that. The plugin can't change their profile until the browser loads the part of the page containing the script and runs it. Then there's the actual time it has to take to execute the script. The first post explains how to hide the "Posted by" text, though the entire reason it's included is because it's incredibly easy to decipher who posted an NPC post to begin with so it's kind of pointless to hide it since there's nothing secure about hiding elements with plugins. So I think what I am looking for is close but I'm looking for something that allows a NPC like anonymous posting where nothing about the person is revealed. Make sense? I will show you what I mean. That's not going to be possible through the use of a plugin. Plugins only utilize HTML, CSS, and Javascript which are all run client-side when a user's browser loads the page. The user's regular information is already served to the browser since it's part of the page. The plugin is just editing the contents of that page after it loads (which is basically what every plugin on the library does).

Bladehawk, can you link to a page showing an example of this? Sure, sorry Just a test thread. Top post has the NPC profile, bottom doesn't; menu doesn't appear for either post.

It looks like this is due to the .left-panel element in the post having a position: relative; CSS property. This causes the absolute positioning of the menu to be positioned according to the boundaries of the .left-panel element rather than the body of the page. Realistically I should just dynamically generate the menu and append it to the body whenever applicable so it's not affected by the CSS of other elements. I forget why I changed it to be the way it is now. I think it had something to do with the menu of another button closing itself immediately when you had one open prior. I think it'll work fine if you go to Plugins > Build > NPC Profiles and change line 322 of the Javascript component to this:

Is there anyway to get rid of the name of the person when you hover over the NPC's name?

Is there anyway to get rid of the name of the person when you hover over the NPC's name? Yes, but if a user attempts to Alt+Click the NPC's name to tag them it'll insert "undefined" into their Quick Reply area instead. I left it in so that the user who made the NPC post is tagged when necessary. Go to Plugins > Build > NPC Profiles and find this on or around line 237 of the Javascript component: Add a new line before it and place this on it:

It can only change the mini-profile information after the page has already loaded. The original information is still there no matter how many changes a plugin makes, so a plugin is never secure in that regard. Plugins do not run on the mobile version of the forum so there's no way to make it work there. Sorry.

Is there a way to add a new Custom field into an NPC's profile/Mini-profile? I run a RP forum where NPC's would have a 'Powerlevel' to determine how powerful they are. Would be awesome to be able to put that into an NPCs information

Go to line 1186 of your style sheet and change the height and width on this line back to 50px.
