Forum URL: giffas.proboards.com/I have a general information thread on my board, which I divide into sections, as separate posts. I would like to order the sections in accordance of content, not in order of date/time of posting. Is there any way to override the date/time order for a particular thread?

This is not exactly what you are asking for, but I can share what we've done on my forum… in the OP we create an Index of each of the topics, then link to the individual posts in the thread. The Index can be ordered in whatever way you please of course. It's not perfect, but it is a workaround until something better comes along.

Hey Rajiv, Unfortunately the timestamps cannot be overridden in any way that would affect the position of the respective post or thread. My apologies.

You can also lock and enable falling and then disable falling to bump the posts into order.

Falling and bumping indeed only affect threads - posts cannot be re-ordered by any simple means at this time.

.... Perhaps you can simply copy the last section into a new last post, then edit the "old" last post to the text for the new section. I did that, but it is unwieldy: I was wondering if there is another way. I was playing around with custom pages and noticed I could insert posts, without the date of the post appearing. I'm wondering if custom pages could be used for what I need. I would need the following for it to work: 1. To modify the available layouts. I need a basic layout of 3 to 6 horizontal panels. 2. For the custom page to be added to on the list of threads on a board. I'm not familiar enough with V5 to be able to figure out if the above can be done.

I managed to resolve 1 by using the existing layouts. See here. I still need to figure out 2. And at the top of each section, there is a link to the original thread. How do I remove that?

That could be added via the templates. Make a post in the template request board and they should be able to help you with that.
However, no one has mentioned this, have you considered just modifying [edit] the posts into the order you want them?

How would that work with separate posts in a thread? Trying to understand.

You can modify any post in a thread. So you can cgange each post's content. So could you not just say modify the first post and insert the content you want? And so on for all other posts.

Ok, but that's what I said was unwieldy (above). 2 reasons. - Earlier links to a section become links to another section without going back and updating the earlier links (given above).
- Earlier content gets attributed a later creation date, while later content gets attributed an earlier creation date. I'm looking at just not having the date/time appear, not have it stated in way that is incorrect.
I'll look further into using custom pages.
