adminabpPutting this in your Global Footer should force Wormo's Thread Image plugin to work with this one..
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
window.onload = function(){wormocodes_threadtitleimages();}
// -->
</script>
It works!!! *Does happy dance* I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure this out(see * below for details). What's great is it makes Wormo's code work on every page with the sidebar, even pages he didn't originally intend for the code to work on, like ancillary pages! Yay! Thank you soooo much, Todge!
I tried to be clever, looked at the forum's page source HTML and substituted out wormocodes_threadtitleimages for the equivalent for Peter's Styled Member Names(which if I'm right is pixeldepth_styled_names) in your code.
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
window.onload = function(){pixeldepth_styled_names();}
// -->
</script>
I tried putting that in the Global Footer, too, but no luck on it making the other plugin work everywhere. Oh, well, I'm just THRILLED to have Wormo's plugin working. Thanks, Todge!
* Okay, since I spent so much time and effort trying to figure this all out, I thought I would share my efforts and what I found out anyway.
What was driving me crazy about this is that after the targeting Wormo's plugin would work, but only in the Sidebar on Threads and on Boards pages, and Peter's would work in the sidebar on Threads, Boards and individual Posts pages, but nowhere else. The last I heard from Wormo he said his plugin was never intended to run on ancillary pages, but it was definitely supposed to run on the Home page, which it was doing everywhere
but in the Sidebar. And Peter's was also running on places like the home page and the Members list page but not working in the Sidebar there.
I figured there had to be something significantly
different in the coding on those pages. I don't know code so I was at a loss, but I decided to play detective anyway. I put on my imaginary deerstalker hat, rechristened my cat Snowflake as 'Watson' and set to work.
I took the source code for the pages and went to
www.tareeinternet.com/scripts/comparison-tool/ an online comparison tool for code, set it for inline comparison, and compared two sets of key pages.
The homepage where neither plugin was showing effects in the sidebar, but was working elsewhere.
abptestforum.boards.net/with a board page where both were working everywhere including in the sidebar
abptestforum.boards.net/board/3/testing-boardI also compared an individual post page where Peter's plugin was working on the page and sidebar
abptestforum.boards.net/post/2with the members list page, where it was not working in the sidebar but working elsewhere
abptestforum.boards.net/membersShared lines between pages were shown in white, unique lines from one page in one color, unique lines from the other page in a different color. There were a lot of white lines, and the different colored lines seemed due to the different types of pages....until this leaped out at me.
On the Main Forum page and the Members page where Wormo's and Peter's plugin were
not working, there was just this:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ads.pro-market.net/ads/scripts/site-131222.js"></script>
On the Board page and the individual post page where one or both were working, there was this:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ads.pro-market.net/ads/scripts/site-131222.js"></script><script type="text/javascript">
<!--
/*
Recently Updated Threads Sidebar v0.2.4
Copyright 2014
Please keep this header intact
*/
set_RT();
// -->
</script>
So I went here:
htmledit.squarefree.com/ An online tool to test HTML that converts the HTML entered into the top of the page into rendered code at the bottom
I tried posting the complete code from the Home page and adding in:
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
/*
Recently Updated Threads Sidebar v0.2.4
Copyright 2014
Please keep this header intact
*/
set_RT();
// -->
</script>
where it was at on the working pages, and got this:
The Thread Title Images and Styled Member Names both now worked in the Sidebar! Only, underneath the links that displayed those effects, were those same links
duplicated without the effects.
I tried another test, pasting the code from the Member page, again adding that same bit of code I did before, in the same place as before. I knew Wormo's plugin wasn't set to work on that page, but Peter's Styled Names were working in the Member list, just not in the Sidebar. I got this:
Peter's plugin was now working in the Sidebar on the Member page! and like before the links were duplicated underneath, without the effect applied.
My guess? The code I copy/pasted into those pages allowed the Thread Images and Styled Names to work, but partially duplicated some code that didn't, hence the two sets of threads in the sidebar, one with effects and one without.
Am I right? Crazy? Should just leave this stuff to the experts?
