I was wondering if there is a way to automatically date stamp an actual post title when creating a post. This could be a way of getting around the problem of including the actual timestamp of a post in the Recent Threads sidebar.
for example, if I was to create a new post, the date would automatically appear in the post title.
2015-10-30 "New post title"
Just a thought, but I don't know how to do this.
Thanks! Brad

I also wanted to know if there was way to switch the most recently updated threads to display the newest threads at the top of the sidebar? Thanks. Unless I'm missing a page in this lengthy thread?

Hello and GREAT Plugin Todge! I figured this plugin out while using it with the Sidebar Redux plugin and it was works great! I was wondering if it would be possible to use this plugin to use the "extra cell" and place the "Shout Box" at the top on the left of my Forum? Instead of keeping it at the bottom? Here is what I have so far.... Any help would be greatly appreciated.. tropheus.proboards.com/Andrew C. I'll take a look, but I THINK the Shout Box would end up stretching the cell, making it unworkable. I also wanted to know if there was way to switch the most recently updated threads to display the newest threads at the top of the sidebar? Thanks. Unless I'm missing a page in this lengthy thread? There is an option to only allow newly created threads, ignoring new posts in already existing posts.. But I'm afraid it's not possible to separate new threads from new posts without a major update to the plugin, which would make it incompatable with previous versions.

Todge,
Thanks for the reply. Okay on the Shout box. I was wondering as the photo in the thread for the "Sidebar Redux" which is linked on the first page of this thread shows some sort of shout box at the top of the Sidebar... If it's possible, no big deal.
I actually think that I was juts not paying enough attention to the posts and that they most recently replied to threads are indeed being posted at the top.
Another question... Is there a way to underline the threads in the sidebar that are being responded to? Or may a way to change the color of the thread or at least the member that replied?
TIA

TIA I'm sorry, but I'm afraid not. There's no way to get that information unless you are inside the thread itself. If an existing thread is replied to, it should be moved to the top of the list though, so, the thread links SHOULD be in order, with the latest reply at the top.

So every new post that is made will posted in the sidebar, even if they are all in the same thread? So there's no way to get the thread to post with the latest reply?
For instance: If there were 5 threads replied to with one reply in each except for 3 in the latest thread. Instead of showing this below:
thread 5 post by user 3 thread 5 post by user 2 thread 5 post by user 1 thread 4 post by user 1 thread 3 post by user 1 thread 2 post by user 1 thread 1 post by user 1
The sidebar would show this:
thread 5 post by user 1 thread 4 post by user 1 thread 3 post by user 1 thread 2 post by user 1 thread 1 post by user 1
This is what I thought the sidebar did. Is this not a capability of it?
If it is, how do I set that up? If not (which seems to be the case based off of the settings) can there be an upgrade to the plugin to create and impliment this option?
Thanks!

The plugin should only display the latest reply in any one thread, with the most recent at the top, no matter what settings you use. Be aware though, that plugins do not work with the mobile app., so any posts or threads created using that will not be included in the Recent Threads cell.

Okay thanks. That's unfortunate that the plugins don't work with the mobile app or that the updated threads sidebar doesn't only update the threads as they are replied to, instead every reply.
Thanks again.

In your example above, do you WANT your recent threads to be displayed.. thread 5 post by user 3 thread 5 post by user 2 thread 5 post by user 1 thread 4 post by user 1 thread 3 post by user 1 thread 2 post by user 1 thread 1 post by user 1 Instead of.. thread 5 post by user 1 thread 4 post by user 1 thread 3 post by user 1 thread 2 post by user 1 thread 1 post by user 1 ?

Unfortunately no. I want the later.
I only want the thread that is replied to, to be displayed once when it's updated. If it stays updated it will simply show once in the sidebar and the current member that responded. So if thread 5 get's replied to one after another, the thread name will not be duplicated in the side bar. It will only show a change in the name of the current responder. This is how all other sites are and I was hoping that it would be possible. Andrew C.

That is exactly how it should work. Threads should never be duplicated in the list, no matter what settings you are using. Could you post a link to you forum so I can take a look?

Thank you... I can't see any duplicate threads in your Recent Threads cell. There are a few threads listed that are in the same 'board', but the code doesn't take the board into consideration, only the threads. If you are seeing something different, could you possibly post an image of what you are seeing?
