This plugin will allow you to restrict posting ability for member(s) on specific boards and/or threads.  You can set it where they cannot reply/quote and/or edit and/or create new threads in a board or thread.

you can also setup a reverse choke where all members EXCEPT those listed will have posting abilities restricted.

converted from PBv4.5 code.
now updated with pagination and aftersearch handlers.

Hi--sorry for the delayed response. No, it did not. Nor did it work with the reverse choke option. That's a bummer too...'cause this is a great idea and could be a wonderful tool. Please keep trying!!!

Im not sure what else you want me to try. it works fine when I test it. if your member is posting with mobile browser, then the plugin isnt running. plugins just dont run on mobile.

test it yourself if you want. create yourself a test account on your forum and setup a choke for yourself somewhere. see if it keeps you from doing what you have selected.

I currently dont even see the plugin running on your forum.

Oh for crying out loud. I was going to update this one and can't download it either. Same problem as the other one. Then I went to tag you and all it did was spin and say it couldn't connect to the server, try again. Hopefully PB gets things fixed fairly soon.

If you go to the library from your admin panel, like click the button from the plugins screen. then try an install.

Has this plug the ability to restrict a member seeing a certain thread completely? Wormopolis

seeing? no. just hampers the ability to make new posts or replies. mobile still lets them though so nothing is perfect

I too would like to block a member from seeing a particular thread. Will this ever be added?

not to post-choke. otherwise it would be called view-choke.

I can't seem to get this to work. I've added a test account to the choke plugin and put in a thread's address, but the account can still post in that thread. I then added a specific board, but I can still post in there as well.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if I've misunderstood how this is supposed to work.

For specifics:
- I added the member account.
- Selected type reply, create, and modify
- Tried with and without adding the board the thread was contained
- Checkmarked yes under "Thread Choke?"
- Next to threads entered the web address of the thread in question

Not sure if it matters, but I could not directly install this on my forum.  Always brought me to an "error, try refreshing" page.  I had to download and then upload it.

Also having trouble getting this to work for me.

I have added a member (I set up a separate member account myself to test)
Clicked all three options - Reply / create / Modify
Selected All boards on the forum
Checked "Thread choke"

I was still able to post anywhere with the choked member profile. Any ideas ?
I'd love this to work as it is a fantastic idea for a plugin.
