A few more months until I finish my thesis-kinda-thing project, Design & Technology for the 21st Century Stage.
Essentially I design and develop hardware and software for live entertainment. In addition to designing and implementing lighting/sound/video/effects/automation for theatre, live music, and stage events.

I've read about a few AAA games that have had 12-16 hour work days for 2-3 months, weekends included. I'm sure that's illegal, and you can complain about it all you want, but the field is small and you risk alienating yourself. It's legal. Jobs like that are classified as "exempt" and aren't beholden to many of the restrictions we typically think of when we talk about labor laws. Any position that's considered creative or intellectual (anything that can be done while sitting on your butt in front of a computer screen, basically) is unrestricted in the total number of hours an employee is required to work in any given timeframe, nor are they necessarily entitled to overtime pay.

I am a certified Child Care Provider in my state. And I am one 3 credit hours away from an Associates in Business. I really need to finish... But now that I've landed the career I've always wanted, the education has kind of been put on the back burner.
