Hello
Lilly, I am Sarapha, a friendly reviewer of forums. The way that I review a board is that I look it over as a guest, and write down what I see, in the order I see it. Then, I take another look, and see what details can be tweaked. I have 8+ years of experience with Proboards and its glory. Let us start
First GlanceHoly Orange. Oka... There seems to be a lot going on. The first thing I see is that 'University' is spelled wrong in the main banner. There also seems to be a side table to the right that randomly says "Camellia in Characte",
and I have no clue what that is supposed to be. I clicked it, and a chatbox came up. Without any warning that it's there, that was extremely random. Also random is the background. Attempting to focus to figure out what that says/is, everything looks very busy and my eyes have no clue where I'm supposed to be looking.
The Main BannerI really don't know anything about this site based on the banner. The name of the site suggests that it's a College-type site, but the image displays Italy(?), and anything but a university setting.
The BoardsThe boards have a nice set-up, but you have a lot of very obvious spelling/grammar mistakes. I won't delve into the sub boards, but here are some listed that I see on the main page.
+Approved Characters /// "This is where approved characters applications will be moved to once a Admin or Moderator checks it." (Should be "once an Admin")
+Courtyard /// "When you enter the school's main gates you'll find a rather large courtyard. The pathway leads to the school, and in the very center of the walkway is a fairly large fountain. There are trees lining the cement walkway on either side, and beyond that is crisp, green grass. Soft to the touch and cut to the perfect length." (Should be "schools")
+Student Services Center /// "Most students, especially new ones, get very confused and turned around on the campus, or need a late note. This bulding is that, and more. Here you can find the Counsellor's Office, Job Link, and the Conduct Enforcement Center." (should be "building" and "Counselor's")
+Hellos and Goodbyes /// "If your new on here, post a hello, tell us a bit about you. If you're leaving, tell us~! Also, don't forget to tell us if you need a hiatus, and for how long. You can post that here too! " (should be "If you're new")
+Rapid Fire Role-Play /// " A board for rapid-fire, short role-play posts. Anything posted in this board is 'Non-cannon', meaning what you post here has nothing to do with your plot lines on the board, even if it's a divergence from your real plot. Any length/format is allowed here." (should be 'Non-Canon'. A cannon is what pirates use to aim fire at an enemy ship. A Canon is a character/thing taken from a book or movie, etc)
Camellia City Category, some boards don't have descriptions on the main page, and it makes the whole thing look unbalanced.
The PlotI'm not going to lie, the entire site plot took me off guard. There is nothing about the site that talks about wizards or anything of the sort. Everything about the site up until this point has told me that it's a typical University RPG. Not the Banner, not the name of the site, and absolutely nothing on the main page. Prior to this moment in time, everything pointed to College RPG. After glancing the plot, I'm kind of like... Culture shocked, and unable to really know what to say. Something is definitely off. Whether it be that the plot needs to be changed, or that the whole site needs to be changed to reflect the plot, I'm not sure, but as of this moment, your board has me entirely baffled.
The RulesMaking it mandatory that they have a thread tracker on the site is just... Strange to me. I'm a person that likes to keep track of my threads off-site in a database, having one attached to the site would simply confuse me and make for a thread that never gets used.
Final ThoughtsI'm still entirely blown away by the fact that I could spend so much time looking over a site and have absolutely no idea what the site is about, then have the shock that was reading the Plot. It's just... Strange.
