Isn't it obvious, school is boring!!! But also you could reorganize your boards and categories. Add a little imagery. Encourage others by adding post. Connect your forum to social media. Etc. and also School is so boring! Why would you want more school! The bullies, the poor grades, the social rejection! I've been victim to all three! There's another one. You could add a part to your forum where kids can let off steam regarding issues from school. Hope this helps. I would sign-up but you know I hate school.

I know school is boring but there will be NO bully's there! And no social rejection! It's a forum! Geez

The Coffee Break Time forum is VERY hard on the eyes. The color scheme is difficult to read.
For the school forum, what is your goal? Are you hoping for it to be a role play? A tutoring/support forum? There are no posts, nothing to tell me what the forum is about, what the rules are, or what type of content members should be posting.

Members don't just magically come. It's not like the movie, Field of Dreams, "build it and they will come". lol I think the others suggested you get busy and start making posts. If you don't seem interested and have a lot to talk about, no one else will. Fair warning, it takes tons of patience and dedication to build an active community.
Quick suggestions for the first one: schoolschoolschool.proboards.com
Although I'm fine with the colors you picked and all the text is easy to read, it seems to default-ee and not a fun place to be. There are all kinds of themes you can download directly from you admin panel to your forum. Go to your admin panel and browse through the vast number of themes, or you can go to manage your theme and click on colors and Proboards has some great pre-designed color combinations. I don't know what grade you are in but if high school, think about what your friends favorite colors are and maybe go with some of those colors. Or better yet, make a poll asking for peoples favorite colors and make a theme from the top three, once you get members posting.
I think Sports are also an part of the school so maybe make a board for Sports and then some sub-boards with different sports and that could include basketball, football, tennis or any of the extra-curricular clubs/teams/groups that schools often have.
Adding some descriptions to your boards will help. For example, under hobbies, list some of the things that are side hobbies outside school such as art, acting, dance, some marshal arts, etc.
And to get some posts going, maybe have a place for (clean) jokes and start posting some of your favorite jokes. If you have a hobby post about your hobby.
I think every forum needs a banner. Maybe think about what you want your banner to have on it, look for some non-copyrighted images and then make a request for a banner in the Banner request board.
As far as your second site. Now the text on this site is hard to read for me. I think you need to pretty much follow my theme advice on this one too because cyan and pale blue just doesn't look good together. To be honest, I think you should of just combined your two sites together because getting one site going is hard enough and two is impossible if this is your first site you've ever run?
You could just have a category on your school site called, "Connect that's the Cheerio effect" and maybe follow though with fun names for each category. Just a suggestion, I just fear you've taken on way more than you can chew with two sites.
So the best two things you can do is find a more cheerful theme and get to posting, even if it feels like you are just talking to yourself, because you will be for some time until you get members.

Thanks for helping. and yes I think one forum is good for me I'm too busy so say goodbye to school forums. Also for CBT forums I will get to work on the theme but I did change that when you join it changes into a much better theme. I'm working on fixing it so that so when you visit as a guest it will be that theme. Also yes CBT is my first forum I will not make or go back to school forums unless I have more time. Which I will let you know when that happens. so I'm just sticking to CBT for now. Anyways sorry for the blabber and thanks for your help!

Actually, what I see as a guest is what the members will see when they register and log in for the first time, unless you have a special code. They'd have to change it in their profile in order to see anything different. It probably would be a good idea to put your best theme as the default so as to attract more members.
Probably a good idea just to concentrate on that one site. You can always use the extra site to test things on and if you ever decide to try to make the school one work, it will be there. I wish you the best of luck!
