Member Thread Count (0.2.4)

This is a simple plugin that keeps count of the threads your members create and displays them in mini-profiles and on the profile page.

Staff members that have the right to edit members profiles can change the current count in the 'Staff Options' tab.

I tried the plugin and it works; but I wanted to mention that under the Staff Options tab, the input field for changing the thread count appears twice. In order to change the thread count, I had to put the number in both places in order for the thread count to update. And also, only the second input field has an update button.

I'm sure if two input fields are supposed to be there, but I wanted to let you know that there are two.

   

And it works perfectly, I must add!

There should not be one under the Warning Level.. I'm not sure what happened there.

The extra input field (below the warning level) is now gone and the plugin still works fine

I was just trying your plugin on my forum thecreativepen.proboards.com

using <span class="thread_count" id="threads-$[user.id]"></span> that shows at the top of the mini profiles

And it seems to be showing the thread count as 0

Does this show the thread count of members threads posted -  or only shows new users thread count?

I have only used 1 super key and tried moving the plugin to the top and bottom of my plugin list

EDIT: AH! it seems to only count new threads - Posting on my forum the thread count moved to 1

Yup, it's not possible for a code to ascertain how many threads a member created before the plugin was installed, but, you can update a member's thread count in their profile page.

View the member's profile, click 'Edit Profile', and then 'Staff Options' and you should have a new option below the 'Post Count' option where you can update the 'Thread Count'.

Be aware that there is an error in version 0.1.0 of the code that places 2 Thread Count options on the profile page, version 0.1.1 fixes that and is available to download from the Direct Link in the first post.

A well needed plugin. Couldn't you add an annoying popup that would allow the user to update their total threads automatically by clicking the update button. The catch would be that the user would keep seeing the popup until they set the key to the correct value. This would also compensate for tapatalk posts. If you aren't interested, I could probably add an extension if you wouldn't mind.
(read post statistics, save in local storage, popup every page until up to date, delete local storage)

The problem is getting that total. As far as I'm aware there is no easy way to retrieve the amount of threads a member has created.

Ah I was not thinking clearly. I too could only find the data in recent threads.
Perhaps an annoying popup could show up to have you navigated to that recent thread page with a modal window that would update the key and then navigate them back to the page they were. And force them to do that once. Or maybe monthly.

Good idea.. That will save the Admin having to update their members' thread counts too..
