Forum URL: budgerigarsforum.proboards.comHi everyone (Happy new year in advance) A member on my forum is having the following problem: "My KIndle Fire tablet uses its own proprietary browser - Silk. Silk is now refusing to connect to this proboards forum:(
I am having to check the forum on my smartphone but it is troublesome to my fading eyesight. My husband thought he had sorted it earlier but he had bookmarked the wrong forum.
Suddenly (today) Silk and Proboards seem to be incompatible - don't know why!"
Can you offer any advice for me to pass on to her? This is the link to her post: budgerigarsforum.proboards.com/thread/14534/proboards-silk-browserThank you in advance! Marianne

What version of Silk are they running? I can connect just fine to ProBoards forums just fine on my kindle.
Is there a specific "can't connect" message they're getting?

mariannemarlow, I double checked this with our Amazon Fire using the Silk Browser and I'm able to connect to your forum, Support, etc. with no problems. You might have them try clearing the browsing data. Settings > Apps & Games > Amazon Application Settings > Silk Browser > Privacy > Clear Browsing Data > (the first 3 options: browsing history, cookies/site data, and cached images & files). If that doesn't work, have them completely power down the device and then boot up again. On mobile devices often a cold boot (the process of starting a computer from shutdown or a powerless state) will fix most issues.

Hi,
This is the response I got back
"Our wireless is through a B.T. Hub 3 router. Message is - You are seeing this page because you are are using a BT service which requires the use of BT DNS servers and it appears you are attempting to connect using a DNS server outside our network.
Operating system is Fire OS 4.5.5.2 installed Sept 2016. "
I'll give the member your message also and see what she says.

mariannemarlow, Based on that error message this is an issue with the router/ISP and not the forum or the Fire. I recommend the member contact their ISP regarding this error message.
