Member reports error message when trying to view a board

We have a member reporting that he cannot view certain threads in our TWD Spoiler boards in the Filming Weeks season 7 Archive.  He is using Mozilla Firefox and Windows 10 on a desktop, and I checked the board permissions (members and staff only) and all of his member permissions, which are correct.

He reports getting an "oops you don't have permission to view this area" which he should be able to see just fine. Guests cannot see the area- we checked that he was logged in as himself and not logged in as a guest trying to view that area.

We asked him to log out and clear his history/cache and try login in again, after which he reported continued problems.  No other members have reported any difficulty accessing the Filming threads and we also had a test account (with same permissions as the reporting user) login and was able to see the topics just fine.

What's the username of the user in question?

Also, is this only when attempting to view certain threads within that board? If so, can you have them specify which threads specifically they're experiencing the problem with?

As far as I can tell your permissions are set up correctly, so as long as they're a registered member on your forum they should be experiencing no issues whatsoever.

The member is @jerry8282 and he reports this issue when trying to access the Season 7 Filming Weeks sub-forum of TWD>Spoilers boards. He says he can see the other sub-forums, but cannot view any of the filming topics, for which he gets the error message.

Hi,

I went and logged in as the user in question and visited the board you specified. I was able to open all of the threads without any issue. Could you check with the user and make sure that this is still occurring for them?

As it may help, what is the URL of the page which displays the error message on? Also, if he tries accessing in a different browser, does the same problem persist?

There does not appear to be a page URL in this post. Is that intentional?

purimagirl, I'm not sure what to tell you in that I too logged in as this user using both Chrome and Firefox and encountered no issues. Additionally since this seems to be happening to just them, it would appear to be something either with their system or connection.

By any chance are they using a VPN or Proxy?

Could you post that URL again? 

I checked (again with that members account) their ability to access those threads and again had no issue. I would have them clear their cookies and cache just as a start to see if that resolves that problem. If there was an issue with the software itself then I wouldn't be able to access those threads either.

Member just advised the pages are showing URLS of Carolution, our original site name so perhaps that is the issue?  Our custom pages for Legal is also coded Carolution I see,

Maybe we just need all our pages (which I thought had switched already)  to be urls of TWD Zone to fix the issue?

purimagirl I'm logged in as him and am able to view those threads without any errors. Can you have the user answer Scott questions above? In addition does he have access to another device (like a smartphone) that he cant try on to test?
