I know this doesn't go here but then this doesn't go anywhere at all really so just placing it here.
1. The Graphics board is one of the few boards that I know of that requires the most details from the requesting members. Details that are needed so that those doing the graphics can do a good job in providing members with what they are asking for.
* A vague request will go unanswered till that member finally realizes they will not be getting their request done at all. Most of those members have no understanding about the details that go into making graphics. They have no clue that when a member asks for more details, its because what the requesting member gave isn't detailed enough and doesn't tell the one who was considering making the graphics what the member really wants.
** Asking for a specific color or color combo is never enough of an answer. Take icons for example, if all you want is for the color of the default icons to change, then yes, that is enough. But say you want a different new posts and no new posts icon, one that isn't the default, more details are required than just a color. Providing an image or detailed description of an image will go a lot further in gaining an asking members what they want.
*** Saying you want characters/people added into a background or banner or logo, details are part of the requirement and almost always so is providing images that can be used. Who ever is taking on the request might say they needed different images because the ones provided are to grainy or not detailed enough or too small or too square etc etc so do as requested, search for images that are workable depending on what you want. So please, provide images and make it easier on yourself to get what you want.
Those are just examples of what I've seen lately and what requesting members should have done to get their request done rather than a constant bumping of a thread that may never be answered at all.
To those making requests: There are rules on the board for a reason. Provide your board addy. When making your requests, detail them as much as possible. If you're like me and are not that picky, make that known but still provide a detailed description of what you're wanting. Too vague a response will be ignored and if not ignored exactly, it will not be completed because you didn't give what was being asked of you. Provide images if that is part of your request. Not providing images doesn't really help you or the one taking time out to help you. If the images you do provide are not ones that can be used, try and find ones that can be used. 9/10 times, you are explained why an image isn't usable. NEVER use copyrighted material/images.
You are being provided a service free of charge so be smart and give what is asked of you if you want your requests filled. Don't be lazy. Lazy is being vague. If you honestly have no clue what you want exactly, say so and then detail what your forum is about because in some cases, that is enough for those filling requests. ALWAYS, pay attention to what those who are trying to help you say. They are not trying to make more work for you. They just don't want to waste their time on a project you might not like so providing details and images is not asking too much of you. You are the one making the request so honestly, it is part of your job to provide what is necessary to get your request filled.
To those filling requests: I'd like to say sorry for some of the things you guys/gals go through on trying to fill requests when what you ask for isn't given. Keep in mind that sometimes, it is a language barrier kind of thing and breaking down what you need in more simple terms might be required. (I won't comment on when its based on laziness.) I also know some have filled requests and it not be what the requester wanted which is why you all ask for details. Just wish those who make requests understood that better. Thank you all for taking your time and filling the requests of others.
I could do something like this for all the boards to be honest but this one was one I can relate to being on both sides of the coin. (the one who makes requests and the one who receives them)
