Cant view 'new post' icons

I am using a theme called spring field  by adoxography
I was trying to figure out how to make it so 'new post' icons appear. Nothing appears when there are new posts. I already changed the images 
I just need to figure out how to get them to appear

in CSS I found a small section when i search for legend
I tried searching for icon but didnt know what I was looking for

Any ideas?

Im assuming where i circled is where the icons are supposed to appear

@kryan90, It appears as though the lack of the new/no new icons for the boards is intentional for this theme. I'm going to refer you back to the support thread for that theme: link since the theme's author specified certain use conditions.
