Does anyone know if there is a plug in that can be added so you can view guest Ips from the last 24 hours, or from multiple hours back on the forum?
If so, I will need very well explained directions on how to enable it because I don't use many plug ins and am not very tech savvy.
This is feature proboards used to automatically have, which I miss. Now you can only view those IPs currently online with you.
Thanks, to anyone familiar with this,- it would just be a nice feature to have.

I'm almost certain that a plugin wouldn't be able to achieve this, mainly because plugins load AFTER the forum loads and can only affect whatever content is available. I'm not certain that it could store that data in a key either, and I'm not wholly sure that collecting IP addresses in this manner is acceptable within the ProBoards Terms of Service section re: data mining. Also, this ability was likely not removed without reason -- there may also be an issue with regards to privacy, especially considering some of the new laws that have passed in the EU. I'd still definitely check back for either a plugin coder or a PB admin to weigh in, but I wouldn't have high expectations if it were me.

And yes, it must be acceptable because that's how these forums used to operate 4 years ago, if you were around then and recall. I highly doubt proboards was breaking their own terms of service. Lol. Not sure if they removed it for any reason but if it were a privacy concern for admins to see ips we wouldn't have access to members or guests ips at all on our forums. I didn't mind having that feature on the forum when we had it, but if it can't be added back in via plug in style no big deal. Was just an inquiry to anyone who may know. This week I decided to get a couple questions asked here that I had been procrastinating with for quite some time. Thanks.

I think you misunderstand me. The TOS forbids users from collecting data. And while you may only use it for viewing, you're neglecting other requirements: how, exactly, do you expect to view data that is not collected? Where will the IP addresses that visited be kept for you to review? This content MUST be collected and stored in order for you to see this information. The privacy concern would be to the storage of that data, and additionally the EU passed new laws regarding privacy that PB is complying with (you may notice that profiles are no longer viewable as a guest, for example). Again, I am not saying one way or another but am presenting issues that will likely crop up. I'll tag a few people for you to see if this can be done. Chris / Peter / Todge

I'm afraid I'm with Kami.. I believe this is a TOS infringement.. In order to see the IPs of guests that have viewed your forum, you will need to collect and store their IP addresses as they visit, and as you'd be collecting personal data about non-members, you'd be falling foul of European law, and hence PBs rules.
