Forum URL: p2pindependentforum.com/Like others I am having problems with p2p independent forum registration. I have recently signed up to the P2P forum, but am still encountering problems logging in. The application has been approved, but when I try to log in I'm told my account is disabled. I understand others have the same problems and that this is somehow part of the vetting policy(??) to disable new accounts initially from this thread here: linkAny advice on how to get around this I tried contacting tonmod who was linked in the other thread but that hasn't yielded any progress in the last couple of days. It would be really nice to be able to ask questions since I have quite a few about a number of p2p platforms... Does anyone else have any contact emails for any of the admins? Is it possible to reach anyone who is an admin or controls the forum? Thanks in advance. Jason

Hi, jasonfh. There's no way around it. Disabling accounts is something the staff of that forum have to do manually, and we do not intervene when it comes to staff actions on any forums we host. Unless they offer a publicly visible means of contact there's nothing we can do to assist you in that regard as we will not disclose users' personal information.

I have to say this is quite a frustrating process...
However, I can very much understand you not giving out their public emails.
I know this is messy but one thing I could then ask of you (since I can at least get in touch with you guys who maintain the overall system), is could you send a private message to some of them on my behalf and ask for their blessing on actually enabling my new account (alerting them to the situation)?
Thanks in advance! Jason

Thanks anyways. I guess my only recourse is to just keep periodically posting to this forum every couple of days in a vain attempt to get noticed by someone from the p2p independent forums. Can you suggest any other actions to get their attention?
This is all very frustrating!!
Thanks, Jason

If you can find one of their staff on here you can try sending them a PM, but I can't think of anything that would guarantee results.

Thanks Brian!
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to my messages. I know this must be frustrating for you guys as well...
I don't know if it is within your permissions to send me the names of some of the proboards contacts for any of the mods / admins ... If you do I would be very happy to send them a friendly request to enable my account.
Actually this does raise a question, this support board and the actual p2p independent forum don't share user names do they? Eg if I just go looking through the messages on the p2p forums and find eg a moderator named Bilbo and then try and send Bilbo a message on this forum that wouldn't work would it. Ie is Blibo@p2pforum going to have a contact Bilbo@proboardssupport?
Thanks, Jason

Names aren't shared across forums. You can provide a unique username on each forum you register on, so there's no guarantee that two users who share the same name are the same person.

Thanks for the info. I guess I could just try a few names on the off chance that they are the same... Thanks

So I think something may genuinely be wrong with the p2pindpendentforum account creation. I just received an email from the board stating: Thank you for creating your forum account at P2P Independent Forum!Your account has been approved by a forum staff member. You can log in with your username or email address when visiting this forum:p2pindependentforum.comYet when I try and log in I see the following: So it seems that I have been approved yet the account is disabled. It would be really very nice to be able to get in touch with at least the mod who approved that account so I could chat to him / her.... Thanks, Jason

Hi Jason,
As was stated earlier in the thread:
This appears to be the procedure that is standard for this forum. There is no issue with this forum.

Hi Jason, As was stated earlier in the thread: This appears to be the procedure that is standard for this forum. There is no issue with this forum. But the forum mod just approved my account or tried to! Or at least I received an email to this effect. Thus maybe it is an error on the end of the p2pindependentforum people, but it appears they are approving my account but I can't log in:

The account approval email is sent regardless of whether or not the account is disabled. They can disable an account before they approve it, which is precisely what they've done according to their security log. There's no errors, at least not at the technical level.

But then why did I receive this email one week after singing up? It sure seems like someone did something or changed something? Maybe their email systems purposely delay a secondary email by a week? Surely this level of confusion would warrant one of you guys dropping a message to one of the mods on the p2pindependentforum on my behalf. Eg something like: "There is a new user who is trying to sign up to your forum. His account was approved but disabled. It has remained like this for over a week. After signing up then a week later he received another email stating that his account was approved, but it is still disabled and he can't log in. I just wanted to check that this is your intended process to register new users. He is finding it frustrating not being able to sign up / log on. You can contact him at <jasons email address>. Thanks, the pro boards mods..." Something like that would be very much appreciated Thanks in advance, Jason

Hi Jason,
It is very likely that the staff did not bother to login or approve new members in that time. The email system is run by us and does not purposely delay a secondary email by a week, nor is there any way for the forum to be setup that way.
Again, this seems to be how this forum operates, I don't believe there is any confusion. We will not contact the staff of this forum regarding your complaint.
